Russian Missile Strikes North of Kyiv Kill at Least 17, #Ukraine Reports.
At least 17 people were killed and scores more injured when three Russian missiles struck a busy downtown district of Chernihiv, north of Kyiv, just before noon on Wednesday.
President Volodymyr #Zelensky said the death toll, reported by the office of Ukraine’s prosecutor general, might rise and blamed Ukraine’s lack of air defenses for the loss of life. The prosecutor general said that 61 people had been reported injured.

A Russian #missile strike appeared to target #Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wed, landing near his motorcade in the #BlackSea port city of Odessa, where the president was meeting w/ #Greece PM Kyriakos #Mitsotakis.
Zelensky & members of the Greek delegation were not harmed, despite the missile landing some 500 feet away.

Associates of Russian opposition leader #AlexeiNavalny said Mon that talks were underway shortly before his death to exchange him for a Russian imprisoned in Germany.
“Alexei Navalny could have been sitting here now, today. It’s not a figure of speech,” Maria Pevchikh, who lives outside #Russia, said in a video statement.
Pevchikh alleged in her video that #Putin “wouldn’t tolerate” setting #Navalny free & decided to “get rid of the bargaining chip.” She offered no evidence to back that claim.
Asked at a regular news conference in Berlin about the claim by the Navalny team, German government spox Christiane Hoffmann said she couldn’t comment.
