In #Ontario, a patient with no family doctor will likely head to a hospital emergency room instead. What should have been a $37 doctor visit will now cost taxpayers $1000.
The #Ontario College of Family Physicians now predicts over 4 million Ontarians will be without a family doctor by 2026. That number currently stands at 2 million. If you think our ERs are crowded now, just wait…
‼️🚨 hey so libraries across NYC are rapidly unspooling.
because of recent budget cuts, they’ve been forced to reduce:
• their stock of digital books
• the number of materials you can put on hold or have out on loan
• their hours of operation
• scheduled repairs & maintenance
• staff
it’s only a matter of time before these cutbacks cascade into elimination of physical materials and closures, leading to the undoing of the library system in NYC.
i implore you to start discussing how to preserve the institutions you have near you and their materials and take steps to make it happen.
Over the next three years, the Federal government is building more than 1,200 homes in #Kitchener. The $42.4 million federal investment encourages high and medium density around Kitchener’s Light Rail #transit stations.
Excellent piece about what's happening in Queen's Park.
"But the fallout could be even more widespread, because no one knows for certain where the Mounties’ probe will lead.
“It’s going to be very bad,” confided a fourth Tory, expressing concern that the scandal is derailing the government’s agenda."
The current U.S. Congress is a fucking joke, well our whole government is. Why does everything have to be curtailed to one group of people, extreme left or extreme right? Why is crossing the aisle to govern with the other party heresy, seeing you burned at the stake by your own party? There's no good reason.
I'd like to start a new party, "For the People" to support issues for the common good of everyone and not just one group.
Reminder to rural Ontario voters experiencing hospital Emergency Room closures.
Under the Ford #Conservative govt. #Ontario has the lowest hospital funding with the fewest hospital beds and nurses per capita of any province in Canada.
👉 Revenue however is $19.5B HIGHER than in 2021. (BILLION)
Will these repeated ER closures hurt the generational PC vote in rural Ontario>>
I’m not that old and in my lifetime, Republicans have crashed the economy twice.
GOP-controlled states are the worst off in the country. And yet, I’m supposed to believe the narrative Republicans are better for the economy than Democrats.
People need to wake up and understand that Republicans will have no problem holding the US hostage They did it for 4 years under Trump, and we barely survived.
Doug Ford lied about a huge drop in Ontario Science Centre attendance as part of his justification for moving the attraction from east Toronto to a redeveloped Ontario Place. Reports from the #ScienceCentre itself show that attendance has actually rebounded since the pandemic lockdowns.
"Others have already pointed this out, but the Science Centre really is a textbook case of a #Conservative govt intentionally breaking something so they can point and say “look, this thing sucks!"
