Golly maybe Schiff shouldn't have spent $11 million in Dem donations, to boost a pro-Trump Republican, Garvey, "who will now turn out Trump voters in key House races that could determine control of Congress."
All so Schiff didn't have to run against a female Democrat who might win the general.
& now he wants to collect & waste even MORE Dem voter donations, in order to counter the harm he did by boosting the GOP candidate.
Do folks understand the fundamental problem with this, yet?
Schiff & Pelosi think they own this seat & that's how they've acted about it for a couple years now.
Total trash manipulation of the electorate that hurts Democrats as a whole, all in service of Schiff's personal power. It's gross.
"Rep. Adam Schiff & his allies are spending $11 million in the all-party primary to try to elevate a GOP candidate & box out Rep. Katie Porter from the general election."
By the time of the primary, reporting indicated Garvey had spent only about $1.2 million IN TOTAL on his whole campaign.
Adam Schiff spent 10 times that boosting Garvey in ads, delivering Democratic funds directly to FOX & other GOP propaganda outlets.
Now, instead of having 2 Dems running in the Senate race, which would lower GOP turnout, Garvey's name at the top of the Senate ticket, will juice turnout in key House races, & offer a debate megaphone for GOP propaganda.
"The Democratic mayor of San Francisco is pushing...proposals on the March 5 ballot, including one that would require single adults on welfare be screened and treated for illegal drug addiction or else lose cash assistance."
"Mayor London Breed also supports a ballot measure that would grant police more crime-fighting powers, such as the use of drones and surveillance cameras."
@Laplantgenetics@glightly In a different direction, while those are considered light motorized quadricycles (which is a category higher than bicycle but smaller than car), the Renault Twizy 45 and the Citroen Ami are also interesting. 28 mph limit (45 kph). I'm not sure I'd want one of those in the US, but they seem to feel right at home in the tiny streets of old European towns.
@daihard@glightly My car in Europe has a speed limiter, combined with automatic sign recognition. Of course, there are some small manual steps involved, and it can be overridden, but it's there. I think I like it more than adaptive cruise control when driving in town, and it pairs well with a stick shift since it remains active when shifting.
(my car is a 7-year old mid-range subcompact from a low-end brand, we're not talking about high-end exotic stuff here).
"Fiscal conservatism" without balanced approach: #Poilievre's focus on fiscal conservatism may not resonate well with voters if it is not accompanied by a balanced approach to economic policy, including investments in social programs and infrastructure. #peepee#capol#elections
Partisanship and divisiveness: #Poilievre has been known for his strong partisan views and tendency to divide Canadians along ideological lines. This approach may alienate voters who value unity and bipartisanship, making them less likely to support him or the Conservative Party. #peepee#capol#elections
Conspiracy theories and misinformation: #Poilievre's embrace of debunked conspiracy theories, such as those surrounding the #WorldEconomicForum, could make him appear out of touch with reality and unfit for high office. His opponents can use this to discredit him and cast doubt on his ability to lead the country effectively. #peepee#capol
Yet again Newsom fucks over labor and makes Joe Biden look like Bernie Sanders.
This passed both Assembly and Senate with veto-proof majorities: 73.8% and 67.5%. But, absurdly, it's a political norm in California never to override a veto. How do we change that? Can SAG-AFTRA and WGA weigh in and force legislators to have a spine? #CAPol
