Farmers there are not allowing proper reporting of the situation because they fear it will hurt their businesses. So there is very little transparency with regards to the current situation and the extent of the spread.
Very Serious Newspapers doing their "Are we ready for the next pandemic?" articles and I'm here like 'we're clearly not effing ready for the current one, which you seem to have forgotten about but is very much still here... So what do you think our odds are if we double it?'
I would rather be the only person wearing a respirator until the day I die, than normalising and contributing to the eugenicist mass death project our capitalist overlords are forcing upon us.
Someone should tell the Tories - it's been their guiding principle since the 80s. I seem to remember quite a few people said this about globalisation at the time.

@jonoabroad I do think there are alternatives, and I believe they would probably work better for most people.
But the structure we live in gives too much power to the few that benefit from neoliberal capitalism. And their world view has permeated everything to the point most of us really believe There Is No Alternative™.
There are alternatives. We are just not allowed to see them, let alone try them.

Ich hänge immer noch in #München fest. In keinem #Medienbericht den ich gelesen habe, werden die strukturellen Ursachen für das #schneechaos, das tatsächlich erst in zweiter Linie was mit dem #Wetter zu tun hat, auch nur mit einer Silbe erwähnt.
Concentration of wealth can be tolerated to a point without causing serious problems for a large number of people. Having more than a billion dollars in resources is well past that point.
