"This contempt filing stretches the scope of the court’s stay order beyond its plain language. The stay order says DOJ can’t try to advance the case, and their filings do no such thing. The filings are just there so that if the case gets sent back by SCOTUS there will not have been any delay on DOJ’s side."
Trump's defense is accusing Jack Smith & his team of Contempt of Court, because he passed on evidence to them.
It doesn't appear to be logical to provide them with evidence without them asking for it, a procedure they'd then be utilizing to accuse him of violating judge Chutkan's court order.
Except if it was a trap they deliberately set up for Jack Smith & his team.
A Roy-Cohn-style trick.
"Trump’s legal team said Smith and prosecutors working on the case have disregarded an order from U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan by continuing to turn over evidence to the defense and filing a legal motion, according to a court filing."
If this man is reelected, he will pardon all the January 6 defendants and criminals. And where is the outrage from the right over the “altered” national anthem? This is straight out of dystopian novel.
@georgetakei Allowing a sociopathic insurrection-inciter to run for (any) public office in the United States is a questionable proof of "American exceptionalism".
@flexghost We don't take an oath to an undisciplined idiot, who's too stupid to read & understand written intelligence briefings, but has to somehow be made aware of important information by being shown most simple drawings.
We don't take an oath to who even his former Sec of State called a "fucking moron", who's 100% guaranteed to not take care, that the laws be faithfully executed.
😎 Wow, NY Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron is getting very serious on the Trump clan!
"...
The case's defendants — Trump, sons Donald Jr. and Eric, and two other top executives in Trump businesses — were ordered to inform the court of "any other entities controlled or beneficially owned" by them, any "creation of a new entity to hold or acquire the assets," and "any anticipated transfer of assets." Engoron also authorized a court-appointed monitor, former federal judge Barbara Jones, to oversee this process until someone can be appointed to dissolve Trump's companies.
..."
Dissolve Trump's empire of fraud.... 👏👏👏👏 The bill for decades of fraud.
@Svetlana2 Sociopaths can't tell right from wrong. So Trump is no exception here, who would surprisingly admit he did anything wrong.
In his own criminal thought cosmos he's always doing the "perfect call".
Jack Smith is not "hating" Trump.
It's Jack Smith's job to bring career criminals to justice — and he's certainly excellent at it.
It's completely irrelevant, whether Trump is an asshole or not, the job of the prosecutor is to serve justice & the people's Rule of Law, which no one is supposed to be above — not even more or less wealthy sociopathic real-estate developers, who wrongly assume justice should serve & protect them from accountability & the laws of the United States.
So that shrieking windbag Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has admitted she is openly coordinating with Trump to keep an “impeachment inquiry” into Biden open for as “long and excruciatingly painful” as possible. This is the real “weaponization” of the government: going after the President with absolutely no evidence, solely for political points.
@georgetakei I can remember Trump trying to smear Joe Biden as long as Donald J. was desperate to be able to abuse presidential office to evade United States laws, justice & accountability.
When smearing would no longer be sufficient, open insurrection against the authority & the laws of the United States became Trump's final straw.
LMFAO 🤣 This dude doesn't have a very good track record of being found not guilty. Pretty much every time he goes to court, he loses. Maybe some of the pretend TV lawyers who represent him might want consider shutting their mouths and focusing on real legal strategies that might actually work in a court of law. In the end, they need to convince 12 citizens, not Jeanine Pirro and Tucker Carlson.
@slcw Not only does the spoiled brat stubbornly & habitually obstruct justice whenever possible, but also the efforts of his own lawyers, who'd actually know better, but still were negligently witless enough to accept the notoriously judiciary-abusing litigation-junkie as a client.
@SteveRogers@TonyStark Just like no one should be able to tell people to donate to an "Election Defense Fund", that doesn't even exist, but nonetheless rake in $250 million?
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan on Tuesday quashed six motions as part of Donald Trump's federal case related to the 2020 election and his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
The motions showed up on the court docket one day after Chutkan set a March 4, 2024, trial date that is the day before the "Super Tuesday" primaries in 15 states #AureFreePress#News#GOP#Politics#USA#Trump
@Free_Press 😎✌ Legal proceedings to hold insurrectionary individuals speedily to account are more important than criminals' desire to evade justice & possible incarceration by running for public office to gain more than questionable protection by a more than questionable legal opinion originally drafted to protect the prime Watergate beneficiary (, who resigned his post in the wake of the outrageous scandal, to evade his impeachment).
Not even Al Capone sought publicity as much as Trump did. Because Capone was a despicable, smart career criminal.
Unlike Trump - who just can't shut the fuck up - self-incriminating, to the delight of all Americans standing with their home country & their Rule of Law.
