LOGICAL TERROR Covers "Here Comes The Rain Again" By EURYTHMICS
Logical Terror, the avant-garde force in the realm of progressive metal, announces the release of their latest single, "Here Comes The Rain Again," a daring cover of the iconic Eurythmics hit.
#Eurythmics Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four) played on a random shuffle of the media server this morning.
Eurythmics produced the soundtrack for the film Nineteen Eighty-Four (released in 1984) an adaptation of George Orwell's novel of the same name. Clips of the film were interwoven with scenes of the band performance in the music video.
On watching the video for the first time in a while I was reminded how graphically the film portrayed a totalitarian surveillance state that seems dangerously closer to reality now than it did when I first watched the film. An intense film if you have never seen it.
“And yet when that beat is unleashed at the club, the wedding reception, even the supermarket,
You go to the dancefloor.
Yes you do.
Yes you do.
Who are you to disagree?”
Great short video about #Eurythmics and their greatest hit.
"Annie Lennox, Wendy and Lisa Working Together on Trio Project."
I find this a genuinely exciting prospect, given the Art Pop tendencies of all participants, and their eclectic tastes, the worst thing this could be is just 'pretty good', but definitely could be something far more ambitious and resonant given the talent pool.
"Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" is a song by the British #newWaveMusic duo #Eurythmics. It was released as the fourth and final single from their second album, #SweetDreamsAreMadeOfThis, in January 1983. It was their breakthrough hit, establishing the duo worldwide. It reached number two on the #UKSinglesChart in March 1983, and number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 six months later. https://youtu.be/yfeL4PnwDGc
#GreatAlbums1980s - #Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (1983). Lennox and Stewart would later make the kind of pop folks at the marina can enjoy over a plate of clams. But in '83 they retained a murky Eurodisco vibe absorbed in Germany and enforced by Stewart's no-budget tracking in a London loft. The video for "Sweet Dreams" made the duo irresistible to the masses at a level not obvious in the trancey synth clatter of "Love is a Stranger" and "Somebody Told Me."
Le 04/01/1983, #Eurythmics sort son deuxième album studio "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" avec les singles "This Is the House", "The Walk", "Love Is a Stranger" et "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)."
"Love Is a Stranger" est immédiatement interdit aux États-Unis, Annie Lennox étant accusée de corrompre la jeunesse. ( les années Reagan !)
I'm starting 2023 by posting #MyRecordCollection , adding to this thread one each day. These are the albums that made me who I am (for better or worse). That should last most of the year! I'm also updating the art, using techniques I've learned and developed since I began this series in 2009.
