@Wraithkal gave my work a lovely shout-out on his indie gaming site (https://www.wraithkal.com/screenshotsaturday-mastodon-musings-may-11-2024/), but I had neglected to include the title in my screenshot post.
Thus, I thought I would share the revised title screen for the Taiyaki Fabulous Museum of Fish (which now fits #GBDev tile requirements better) and a full view of the WIP beginning environment.
As always, you can also see my #Pixel_Dailies entry for today's theme, #crow.
Someone (sono) suggested trying a large number of balls with the Game Boy Breakout Lava-Lamp to better approximate actual lamp glob behavior.
So here are 40 balls (still 4 color groups) sped up ~3x to show it faster: the balls group into packs with "territory" pretty quickly. It's cool to see sort of emergent cooperative behavior.
Here is a plethora of screens of MtM:Cryptsmasher running on fake real hardware :) It's as close to authentic as I can get it, Game Boy fans zoom in (trust me!)
I'm having fun experimenting with shadows on such a dark display, and I now consider this also my film noire debut ;)

👏🏻😁 What do you think?
Possibly the first homebrew release to ever use the physical keyboard on this console. The MegaDuck is a slightly altered Game Boy clone, and there is even this weird and delightful laptop version.
With some reverse engineering it's now possible to use some of it's special features.
emutyworks is learning Game Boy programming with RGBDS through developing a car racing game and documenting the progress by sharing gameplay recordings on YouTube and work-in-progress source code on GitHub along with a dedicated wiki page.
It's like #GameBoy#Workboy except it actually shipped. It has same GB compatible cpu (sm83) and with slightly altered registers as the Megaduck Handheld.
Anyhow, turns out the System ROM has a Y2K12 bug. The, max year supported is 2011.😄
Halloween is almost here, and we've got a beast of an article to celebrate. Gumpy Function takes a stab at The Addams Family for the Game Boy and applies his Redux treatment. See how he tackles this monster and learn some of the secrets to his process.
