Yeesh that has taken me long enough! Fiiiiinally moved on from Mint 19.2 (which was EOL'd mid last year) to LMDE6 💪 :linuxmintnew:

Lets hope this can be as great a daily driver as 19.2 has been for the last 4.5years

GIMP Security Update V2.10.34-1 For Debian12 & LMDE6.
GNU IMAGE MANIPULATION PROGRAM is an advanced picture editor. You can use it to edit, enhance, and retouch photos and scans, create drawings, and make your own images. It has a large collection of professional-level editing tools and filters, similar to the ones you might find in Photoshop. Numerous fine-control settings and features like layers, paths, masks, and scripting give you total control over your images.

Many image file formats are supported, including JPEG, Photoshop (.psd), and Paint Shop Pro (.psp) files. It can also be used to scan and print photos.
several vulnerabilities were discovered in GIMP, the GNU Image Manipulation Program, which could result in denial of service (application crash) or potentially the execution of arbitrary code if malformed DDS, PSD and PSP files were to be opened.

A deep-dive look at the latest Linux Mint LMDE 6 Faye BETA release:

In this blog post, I opine on why the Edition of appeals to me over the main Mint release.

I also take an in-depth look at what the latest LMDE 6 has to offer, from installation to setting up after the initial boot.

I had great fun trying the new LMDE out!

I am using Regata OS, which is based off of openSUSE.

It was fun beta testing Linux Mint Debian Edition 6 (LMDE 6), but being a beta, meant that Bluetooth issue they have isn't going to be fixed right away, and the truth is, I want to use my keyboard to log-in.

Originally, I presumed, it was because my keyboard was Apple, but this issue will impact any Bluetooth device. https://github.com/linuxmint/lmde6-beta/issues/20

The only other Bluetooth device I have is a set of headphones.

It, too, could not connect until I was signed in. But headphones are not exactly something I need before logging in. My keyboard, however, should connect immediately, so I can sign in. Or at the very least, there should be a virtual keyboard at the greeter, so I can sign in.

But even after signing in, I still needed to manually press "connect." Nothing connects automatically in LMDE 6.

Normally, both GDM and SDDM have the option to manually click and connect to Bluetooth, should automatically connect fail. This is a useful feature found in both (SDDM and GDM).

In LMDE 6, while the button is there (if you install either), it does not work.

My personal Linux desktop environment tier list after two years of , based on overall friendliness and ease of customization:

  1. Cinnamon
  2. GNOME
  3. Xfce
  4. KDE
  5. Pantheon

What’s yours?

@mp362 @RockyC Thing with Nemo, for me, was that I couldn’t get used to the sorting options of (dot) files and folders. But then again allows you to plug in any file manager you want! It just baffles me how much good software is out there.

will also be released this summer based on Bookworm. I just wonder when this will be the flagship distro (in favor of current Ubuntu-based ).

Gotta try as well one of these days. Where did I put that USB stick 🥳
