I know I've gushed about 's upcoming new rock album before, but she deserves all the plugs for @loewe's .

So, here's a re-up of her newly released cover of "What's Up" featuring Linda Perry. https://songwhip.com/dolly-parton/whats-up

Woke up with morning to a new #MusicVideo from #XG. Their new song "Puppet Show" just dropped.

Here's the link on #YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFeRPM7Sm6c

The beat is great. Love the rap breakdowns as well as their vocals. Solid track. Have to check the rest of the album later.

It's time for , hosted by our friend @loewe ^^

There is a generation of female singer-songwriters that make hauntingly beautiful music: Chelsea Wolfe, PJ Harvey, Anna Von Hausswolf... and the project Lingua Ignota.

She is an incredible artist, desperate and terrifying at the same time. She can sing with a perishing delicate voice and shift into black metal-ish yells, even if there is no metal in her music.

Love this week's theme for the mix. Have to add in Ida Haukland's powerful voice to the mix. She and Floor Jansen are just... they both need to be nerfed in the next patch.

Minako Yoshida basically made this whole album by herself. This is the best known track, but the whole thing is worth your time.

I had so much to do at work today, that I totally forgot and

So here it is, one of my favourite all-women-bands:

I love the energy of their songs.

@Kitty @neurothing is another record for - it's Morce Majeure by Doro. This was her first album not under the Warlock name, although from what I've read, many consider the last "unofficial" Warlock album. Kind of keeping my theme going here... LOL!

Heard is a thing now, and the first band that came to mind for me is Ladytron. I've loved them since I first heard their first album '604' when it came out in 2001. 'Playgirl' is so catchy and infectious, it INSTANTLY hooked me. And their cool voices!

Ladytron has had so many amazing songs since, too, like 'Seventeen', and 'Deadzone' (a warning for this one, I didn't link the video here, it is VERY strange and dark, just search for it if you wanna see, kinda like how their video for another of their newer songs 'The Island' is also weird, they've gone a wild direction lately that I dig, but I'm sure it's not for everyone).

These two of their videos are rad and totally TAME, though - and worth a watch, because they are GREAT:

Continuing my self-imposed "hits from the " theme, here is a classic I assume even kids could sing along to.

Released in 1982, it's (IMHO) one of the last hits from the disco era:

It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls:

gives us so many choices I didn't know where to start.

I'm kicking my entries off with hits from the 1980ies - the for me least appealing music years.

Great exceptions were e.g The Pointer Sisters. 😄

Another classic with not too dissimilar vibes is Gloria Gaynor's "I Am What I Am" from 1983:

I'm also taking a brief detour to 1978 and link to another cracker of hers, "I Will Survive":
