Psst - it's the anniversary of Cowboy Bebop's and Music Women Wednesday by @loewe
So, let's post music from the incomparable Yoko Kanno, specifically Tank! - which served as the theme for Cowboy Bebop. https://songwhip.com/seatbelts/tank
"Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan (6 September 1971 – 15 January 2018) was an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. She was the lead vocalist and lyricist of alternative rock band The Cranberries. One of the most recognizable voices in rock in the 1990s, she was known for her lilting mezzo-soprano voice, signature yodel, emphasized use of keening, and strong Limerick accent." Have a really cool #MusicWomenWednesday this week. I literally discovered Switzerland's SUN COUSTO a few minutes ago. They have an album 'Imaginary Girls' coming out next month and they're kinda lo-fi and sound a bit like an all-female Sebadoh with some other twee mixed in.
The leads and vocal harmonies come through on this Frozen Crown track!
I will say, the guitar is pretty sterile at the beginning of the track, and the drum production throughout is super flat. BUT, big hair DON'T CARE, don't we all just wanna jam on a snowy tundra?
Its Wednesday a time for sharing great female music artists. My pick this week is:
Rising Appalachia is an American Appalachian folk music group, led by multi-instrumentalist sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith. Their music is deeply rooted in the landscapes of Atlanta, New Orleans, and the southern Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia. What distinguishes Rising Appalachia is their ability to blend a diverse range of instruments and styles. Their musical palette spans from banjos and fiddles to djembe, balafon, congas, tablas, kalimbas, beatbox, and even didgeridoo. This distinctive combination gives rise to a musical mosaic that seamlessly interweaves elements of world, folk, and soul music.
I have to say that this all women band, which is plan to open for Chelsea Wolfe, are definitely winning me over. Dark, cold, somehow minimal, but so melodic too. I am loving their music.
Damn. I listened by chance to #markknopfler. Feels I get depressed right now. Need some metal to get my head clear again. So #Mütterlein from France has to help me. #MusicWomenWednesday
Well, my #Wednesday shift was better than the last one and there's a bright sun shining...
...but I just consumed some vile conservative hypocrisy (even more despicable than usual), so I'm choosing #Bestial#Black#Metal violence for this #MittwochMetalMix! 🔥👹🔥
And because the DIABOLICAL FUCKWITCH OF THE BLACK FLAME 😃 is on vocal duty this might also fit for #MusicWomenWednesday ->
It's Music Women Wednesday from @loewe and it's also #MittwochMetalMix from @Kitty, so maybe instead of putting up a K.K. Slider joke, I do the brand new track from Halocene.
