#PhpStorm 2023.2 is here. And it comes with so many really nice new features. Used the preview version of it. You now have native support for #Laravel Pint, an #AI Assistant whose integration is nice, many little UI improvements and so much more. Time to update – or to try it out. Is there an annotation I can add to a class stub that will tell #PhpStorm that a readonly property is most certainly set in the constructor, so that PhpStorm quits complaining that “Typed property ‘foobar’ might be uninitialized?” #PHP
Took time today to start learning some of the #PHPStorm#Git tools. Typically I would have a terminal open in PHPStorm and do all that from the cli. Using PHPStorm, I was able to cleanup merge conflicts faster with more confidence, create better merge messages, and was sort of forced to fix some code analysis issues I was ignoring for awhile. Con: no aicommits… or is there? Though, using aicommits is probably a massive con in itself, not debating that one here, yet.

I think it's a pretty good advice to clear caches within #PHPStorm now and then. It prevents from a lot of headache, when PHPStorm does not behave as expected once again. File -> Invalidate Caches...

#PHPStorm is a pretty darn good software, but sometimes I lose my nerve on settings and system notices. Especially #xdebug and the "Debug session was finished without being paused" message took me hours to figure out what is going on. "It may be caused by path mappings misconfiguration" is totally misleading. Most of the time it's simply because a breakpoint has been set for a code never been executed. 😞 🙄
Anyone here use #PHPStorm and know how to change the appearance of the "Type hint" helpers in this JS code?
I find the : Element and : Date helpers extremely confusing to read and I'd prefer them formatted much more like the blocked out selectors: type helpers.
I can't find any way to change the style of those particular type hints tho.

Finally got around to trying the new UI for #PHPStorm. Happy to say it works well with the Light Lite Colour Scheme, despite warnings suggesting some themes might not work correctly.
