swindler 's attempts to silence investigators by "lawyer's letter" is instructive. Always look up the author on the SRA Solicitors Regulation Authority website. (As the New European newspaper did, to discover the "lawyer" was a struck-off solicitor).
Do likewise for the originators of glossy brochures, featuring smiling receptionists & promises of wall-to-wall service for elderly wanting will drafting, power of attorney etc but silent on, (especially), the fee arrangement.

In 2020 I watched several well established Brit suppliers desperately searching across corporate social for any route to get Gvt, Ministers etc to literally receive their stockpiles of PPE for free, or at cost.

+a special 'phuck that' to corporate algorithms which buried all attempts under trashposts & ads.

Instead contracts were given to chums like 's pub landlord. PestFix with £18,000 assets almost zero staff. Michelle Mone. Scammer chums with no history of supplying anything.

As #RishiSunak scrambles to put some clear blue water between himself & #MichelleMone (presumably far enough that he cannot be reached by helicopter), the bigger issue for people outside the #Tory party (apart from the scandal of #PPE fraud), is her use of lawyers to try to halt press coverage of the accusations earlier in the year (accusations she has no freely admitted are true)...

I wonder if this'll be come the straw that breaks the #SLAPP back?

We can but hope!

& husband Douglas Barrowman represent the unacceptable face of an unacceptable corrupt Tory Party. She puts forward facile tortured grounds 4 her behaviour, to most it's just lying and greed. Disgusting. All monies must be returned to the UK taxpayer, with interest and charges. Fast Lane must be investigated fully, the findings reported to the British people. https://rb.gy/ajdrh6

One of my elders is in hospital unexpectedly as of yesterday, already admitted and getting treatment. Was dx'd apparently with flu 'and not covid' but is in a ward that requires gowns, etc.

I won't be able to visit because they are ALSO requiring wearing a baggy blue mask (I will be denied entry with my elastomeric respirator).

How do we know there is a problem in public procurement in the UK?

well, as the HoC Public Accounts comm. points out:

One third of contracts awarded (mourned £100bn worth) were not subject to competition - just one bidder;

Framework agreements while speeding up procurement also help establish an inner group of 'preferred suppliers' who know the game of public procurement.

As the revealed around Covid procurement revealed these sort of arrangements breed profiteering.

@goodlawproject continue to dig up evidence on the scandal around and the .

You'll not be surprised to learn that firms referred through the scheme by ministers charged more than regular suppliers....

Money squandered, corrupt practice(s) & legitimate businesses bypassed. This really was (is) government for their chums.

The are a disgrace!

Including "up to four times higher than average", and forgetting to mention that some of such companies sprouted out like mushrooms after the rain and were led by relatives and friends of the politicians referring them to the government ... Theft by another name, yet, indeed, they have "done nothing wrong": all legal. But legal isn't moral, or right, or impervious to further legal inquire and revision – time will tell.
