I absolutely love the cover story this week AND it qualifies for the #Dog tags :-) <3
Find a vendor near you, I don't think we are going to be able to keep them stocked up this week.
I'm giving a talk for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) on June 18th! OMSI has a lecture series called Science Pub and I'll be talking about science in video games, both in the making of them and in the games themselves. Should be a lot of fun! If you're in the Portland area during that time, come join me! It'll be at the McMenamins Kennedy School Theater on June 18 at 7pm.
Dead deer at Bethany Lake Park and there is a bald eagle floating above. Since it's on NW 185th with all that car, bike and foot traffic, chance is dim it's gonna have supper there any time soon. #pdx or #pdxish
#PDX nerds: I'm embarking on a home #networking project and need about 250 ft of quality solid copper #Cat6 (or better) cable. Before I buy new, is anyone holding? Anyone with a half-used spool gathering dust in the garage? I'd much rather buy someone's leftovers. Thanks!
> Powell's Books recently announced its first-ever warehouse sale that will run from June 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the chain's supply warehouse at 2720 Northwest 29th Avenue.
As we do some last packing away of the house clutter into the garage before the realtor photographer arrives, and thinking to our move out of Portland after 12 years, I think back to when my daughter was a small child here and whenever she drew our house she included gray rain clouds above instead of sun. 😂 #pdx
"The event will be held at the independent new and used book seller’s warehouse, located at 2720 N.W. 29th Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 1 and 2.
The book sale will feature a variety of genres, from literature to nonfiction and children’s books, at deep discounts…"
I'm in his core demographic - a dedicated fan of the #nba and #GratefulDead & Portland guy - so he was a big part of the scene for me for decades. I never really knew what he was talking about, but I loved the vibes. And yes he blocked my view at a couple shows, but later through a one degree of separation thing I got to sit in his seats at a #TrailBlazers game, and they were the best seats I've ever had, so we'll call it even.

That one morning I got more raspberries than I could eat. I had 8 raspberry bushes in a hedge along my driveway that kept me busy all summer long. Needless to say much of them went into jams and pies. #gardening#fruitsfriday#pdx#harvest#urbanfarming
