I conduct content review for a client working on #type1diabetes research.
This report on arsenic in drinking water leading to #type2diabetes is worth sharing so people know their risk factors:
"Exposure to drinking water contaminated with arsenic below the current regulatory limit is associated with an elevated risk for type 2 diabetes (#T2D) in urban US communities, with the correlation being stronger in women and individuals with a lower body mass index (BMI)."
Had the worst hypo yesterday. Even after eating 6 sugar tablets it took more than an hour to get somewhat back up. I had a friend over when it happened, so we got my dad to come over. After a while we decided to call in the doctors post. They sent over my general practitioner.
I'm ok now, but called in sick to restore. Be nice to eachother today okay 🤗🤞
I was at the office today. Felt good. Hoping to pick up things slowly, and feel normal again. I already work 80% of my regular hours, but mostly from home. Actual human interaction is nice. 🩷 #health#t2d#diabetes
I moved over to Mounjaro after not being able to get Ozempic. Now there’s a shortage of Mounjaro as well! Looks like I am going back to a zero carb diet again 😭😭😭 and at Christmas time too 😭😭😭 #diabetes#T2D#T1D
@woefulhc@Mary625 you are right #diabetes sucks and for everyone how they feel about it is different. In my case being #t2d, I was so glad I found out about it two years ago. With a little effort I feel so much better. Sure, I always worry about potential complications later. But for #t2d atleaat, diagnosis can bring on some very positive lifestyle changes. Wish I had known years before....
@Mary625@woefulhc when I was diagnosed, I was a little over weight perhaps 4-5kg for my BMI. I had been more before. However. In my family there is some #t2d already, and they are not overweight. I don't subscribe to the view it is only genetic (except perhaps in some cases) but that does increase the risk I was told. So it is a combination for factors. In the end, diet and exercise are your friends... And I have to say I am not extreme on either point.
Going back to low carbing because I am almost out of Ozempic. Instead of going full carnivore (ie zero carbing) I will eat a lot of low carb fruit and veg, dairy (hello cheese) and limited nuts and seeds. Ozempic is like a wonder drug that allows me to eat like a regular person. Maybe I should eat low carb forever and accept I’m not a regular person #diabetes#T1D#T2D#DoubleDiabetes
Hi to all my #diabetic comrades. I had to move instances and not all those I was following were moved. Definitely not all the followers. If you have #diabetes , either #t1d or #t2d can you please follow? If I don't already follow you, I will follow back.
For those of us who are #t2d#type2diabetic physical exercise is almost mandatory. However, going to the gym or other forms can be a little scary. While safe in the end (thanks to glucose tablets) yesterdays gym visit resulted in fast falling blood sugar levels. I only had this issue way back in my first few days of going to the gym. So take care if you are planning on doing some more intense exercises.
The Surprising Connection Between Chewing and Type 2 Diabetes
A recent study found that Type 2 diabetes patients with full chewing function have significantly lower blood glucose levels than those with impaired chewing ability. The research reveals that chewing stimulates processes contributing to reduced blood glucose levels and therefore suggests the importance of oral health in diabetes management. https://scitechdaily.com/the-surprising-connection-between-chewing-and-type-2-diabetes/#chewing#T2D#Type2Diabetes#glucose#OralHealth
#Today I do not really want the lunch I brought from home. But I don't like what the cafeteria has on offer and don't feel like ordering out -- which can be complicated. This is life with #T2D ; sometimes you just have to eat what you brought and be done with it.
