Also, Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia has a shelter for pets set up at the Canada Games Centre in Clayton Park. If you have a place to stay, but you can't bring your pets with you, they will take them in.
On Facebook, there's a page dedicated to people who can't find their pets and people who are finding other people's pets in their yards. Some pets have been reunited with their owners. Here's the page:
