I am using Bepanthen Scar for my top surgery scars and it surprised me. Just one use and my scars got so much softer that it is hard for me not to keep touching them. It is like a nice claming stim...

It feels so beautiful to be able to touch my chest like this. <3

If you have had top surgery a nonth ago or longer, I really recommend these scar gels. They make a huge difference in the healing process. :D

I wore a shirt against my bare chest for the first time and the lack of dysphoria staggered me. It felt strange but also like I had arrived home. The level of comfort was alien, but my skin no longer felt like an enemy I have to fight every second of my existance.

Putting the vest back on to reduce swelling was like putting on a little cage...but at least I know I get that one off entirely after 3 more weeks of healing.

Now that I feel better, here's the personal art piece I didn't share earlier. (: I still have a lot of healing to do, but every day is thousand times better than past 22 years of needless, maddening dysphoria.

I had my first dysphoria free shower today. (:
It is...strange. Is this how cis people feel in their bodies? No disgust and desire to lop things off?

Just...existing and looking at yourself from mirror like, "yup, that's me. How fun."

I still got a lot of healing to do but thus far this feeling is amazing and the pain is a worthy price to pay. <3

My son's surgery is rapidly approaching. My plan is to spend a bit extra on groceries the next few weeks and put some up in the freezer. Then we have good, homemade food available easily for when we're both tired. (Caregiving is exhausting!)

On the list:

  • pizza (with homemade dough and sauce)
  • spanikopita chicken meatballs
  • dahl and naan

Would love to hear your favorite freezer recipes! (no soup, beef, or pork, and they need to be non-dairy adaptable pls)

Are you, or someone close to you, in the preparation process for transmasculine chest reconstruction (top surgery)? Look over this handy list for items you may not know you’ll need/want after the operation.

Please please please do not feel pressure. I know so many of us are not in a place to donate anything.

tehg33kgir1@gmail.com is my paypal.

My paypal "goal" is $300 to cover the nice compression vest and a little for a takeout meal or two. Every little bit helps.

Just found out the date of my son's top surgery. I am SO FUCKING EXCITED for him.

I'm also having some Great Big Feels.

It's about a month sooner than I'd thought, so less time to save money and prepare.

I have never before shared any kind of amazon wishlist, or my paypal, asking for help. But I think the time has arrived.

There's just so much, and I'm just me.

So I had with roughly 3 years ago now. I will say my surgeon did a really good job on the nipple grafts. In my humble opinion.

I would love to get nipple piercings someday. But I first wanted to ask anyone who has had top surgery and got nipple piercings, what do I need to know? Or if you are a and have information/advice, help please! and thank you!

bun, to TransJoy

Wanted to share some with you all.

I am . I have never been on HRT. It’s been nearly 3 years since I got (DI w nipple grafts).

Yesterday was my first time walking around in public (at a pool) without a shirt on, just swim trunks. No one said anything, no one stared (that I noticed). I just got to exist as I am. I had an amazing time swimming with my family. Below is a selfie we took before heading home.

Since a lot of subreddits are going private right now (I fully support them), I noticed that some of my informative ftm posts were hidden temporarily. This includes the posts I made about my experience taking a less common form of testosterone called “testopel” and my experience getting medical tattooing on my nipples to correct some cosmetic flaws / make my nipples look nicer after top surgery. I think some of the posts are back up now but I’m not sure.

Regardless, I just wanted to say that if anyone ever has any questions about those topics or about ftm transition in general, you can absolutely message me about it here or reply this post. 👍 Might start posting the informative stuff here instead anyway.

Hi, Mastodon! I am writing my thesis for my Master's in Social Work. Originally, I wanted to focus on butch women obtaining top surgery.

Now, I want to look at how the trans community navigates/negotiates/pressures the medical community into creating a more expansive view on gender and a less medicalized view of gender dysphoria. (ie, viewing dysphoria as a social problem, not psychological.)

Do you have sources? Do you know people who are involved?

Thank you for your help and/or suggestions!
