@remindme 1 day

This a an interesting tool that "you can use to send you reminders about toots!
E.g., "@remindme 1 day", "@remindme 1 week", or "@remindme 1 week"

If you'd like the reminders to be sent via dm (instead of publicly), add "dm" to the message. For example, "@remindme dm 12h""

As an example, this account is located on a server. friendica speaks , as many other software out there, yet it behaves different than . For example it delivers notifications when other profiles comment on a post this profile commented on. So if someone else set's a reminder, unless it's done in DM mode, this profile will get a notification as for any other comment. Your bot is really useful but you should have in mind that it will interact with the whole , not only mastodon. Over here for example at least in this version there is no option to change the publishing level to unlisted, followers only or DM. You just reply the same way the post or respective reply is set to. So there is no option to reply in DM mode for example.

From a point of view and considering hat most people aren't to tec savy I definitely consider you should set the default to DM and in any case create the option to request e.g "only followers 1 day", "unlisted 1 day" and/or "public 1 day" specifically. Other wise you expose the people to become "game" for data miners that simply have to check your toots and answers stream to pick up users and their interests. The fediVerse is very privacy aware and in my opinion you'll definitely earn respect by the community if you are excessively aware, careful and respectful on that matter.

Where is the / version of del.icio.us/Pinboard?

NSFW Pixelfed Server geared towards OnlyFans content? : PixelFed: https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelFed/comments/14qm715/nsfw_pixelfed_server_geared_towards_onlyfans/

I don't trust . I don't trust Jack Dorsey's motives - never have. I don't like the way they basically started it as celebrity invite-only social rather than open everything right away. I don't like that they effectively tossed out and all of the existing work in favor of building their own thing. I do not see myself being convinced to join them.

Am I just being a crank?

Both and announced they were joining the well before the started gaining steam.

We also can’t forget that is also joining the .

And I suspect more forum software will soon follow suit.

Why? Because the just validated that is useful for forum software.

tchambers,

@atomicpoet Jimmy Wales said the next version of his Wiki-based social network would support (not at launch but on roadmap) and suggested it would be a replacement for some uses of Reddit (and Twitter)

"...and anything you post mentioning that account name will reflect to everyone else following it"

Note this, and consider what it means

"anything you post mentioning that account name will reflect to everyone else"

From past experience with a that may mean kissing your Home feed goodbye, unless you're doing one and only one thing

Hi @evan @cwebber@pfefferle
Timely question: Does anyone know the status of a formal or informal building out an test suite, akin to the one used to test http://webmention.rocks but for Acitivity pub.

I know the activitypub.rocks effort ended & I see this one that seemed to evolve from that but has been derelict for a while.

Is there any other effort active?

This week's is some of the folks I'm watching closely on the discussion and development work on bridging and

@snarfed.org
@ramsey
@profcarroll
@anildash
@erlend
@Hamishcampbell

And many others in this Mastodon-compatible Frendica group focused on developing that interoperable bridge:

So, the 503 is was getting with the plugin was a false issue. turns out it was a domain redirect issue (ie, I was using xyz.cc instead of www.xyz.cc).

However, I'm still not getting my profiles when I use @xxx - I'm wondering if this could be a firewall issue with my host? Anyone know if there is a specific requirement for the ActivityPub plugin?

(FWIW - https://www.xyz.cc/author/xxx works correctly...)
