silver lining: it was awfully thoughtful of all these boston college administrations to draw the attention of a group of young, energetic, politically active students to last year's "tent ordinance" that cruelly targets the unhoused and is now being used to crack down on speech
If you're going to blast Mayor Wu for hosting a party for "electeds of color," this seems pretty relevant, eh, Boston Herald? Did you look into it? Or did you think your story was too good to check?
'But other councilors of color defended the party, saying the group “electeds of color” has been around for several years and has held other events.’ #BosPoli
Reported last week: #Boston gives $10 million every year to the Israeli military. Any word from Liz Breadon or other city councilors in response to this revelation? It's only been a couple business days so I will give her benefit of the doubt, but I hope #Allston#Brighton residents will stand up against genocide. Or will they be silent? #BosPoli
Much love and respect to the disrupters who confronted city council. I’m disgusted with my local government. We can do so much better! End the genocide.
It is absurd to me that you have to re-register to vote in every municipal election.
Anyway, #Somerville#Cambridge#Boston be sure to check your voter registration and re-register because I think today is the last day to do that for the upcoming elections. #SomerPoli#BosPoli
@universalhub
This is the same progressive council that is siding against slavers?
(TBQF, Quincy is the major roadblock to reopening Long Island,
but Council has used that as an excuse to not open something somewhere else meantime. Massive failure to act. )
@universalhub The best new name for the building already exists: Cradle of Liberty Hall. It recognizes the history of the building and its role in the Revolution, abolition movement, et al without being tied to a specific person.
@universalhub
Surprised it's taken this long.
Yes, memorialize that all the good he did for the city, including the hall whose gifting was intended to buy his way into heaven, was leveraged on the triangle trade, and how deeply involved he was in trading persons as merchandise. Remember his name as object lesson.
Just a reminder: proper ventilation in schools is a great way to improve educational outcomes. When students, teachers, staff, and parents don't get sick as often, everything gets better.
Where's The Barr Foundation on this issue? Where's The Boston Foundation? Where are all the rich people who purport to care about urban education?
It's almost like all their money and advocacy isn't actually about improving education.
