I suspect there's only a very small number of people in my audience who overlap with synth gear YouTube, but let me know if you have any other channels you'd recommend.
First impressions of my new modules after a couple days of random knob twisting and not much manual reading (I like to familiarize myself with a module as much as I can before diving into the manual - I get a lot more out of the manuals this way).
Joranologue Orbit 3 - Love at first patch. A wild chaos generator that functions at both CV and audio levels. Many patch points for modulation. This module fits my workflow and aesthetics like a glove.
My brain: "You have so many in-progress projects you should work on finishing."
My brain: "..."
My brain: "Time to start another new project".
This will be a three-rail voltage and current monitor for #Eurorack systems. It has two displays so you will be able to see everything at once, and can have graphs and other fun visualizations.
And I'll be able to use it as base to connect to other modules via UART when I need an extended UI.
So. I finally did it. After working with 18U 104HP for 4(?) years I ordered a Needham Woodworks 21U 168HP rack. After going onto Modular Grid and moving stuff around I’ve come to realize how much wider 168HP is compared to 104HP. I’ll end up with 3 full 168HP rows that will be empty. 😭💀 I guess I’ll have to eventually fill all of that space up. Right?!? #eurorack
And this is why I'll never buy an assembled DIY kit off of Reverb ever again. If a module's gonna blow, it's going to be because of my shitty soldering and not someone else's!! 😁
I've been recently looking for a budget reverb pedal (under $300 CDN/ $225 USD) and settled on the GFI Systems SKYLAR pedal. I haven't received it yet, and so I'm wondering what all my #synth and #guitar friends on here use for reverb? All price ranges are cool, no judgement! :)
Day 113 of #PCBs - A front panel for a #Eurorack touch screen controller.
A display module fits in the center, with buttons on the left and bottom.
On the right, I'm going to try a different approach for illuminating the knobs. Instead of discrete LED lights like I've done in the past, I'm going to see what a ring looks like.
my eg is finally here. hah i need to get some modules ready to sell and most of them are envelope generators. this one will be replacing the Modulaire Maritime ENA #eurorack
As a n00b I have to wonder why some, even DIY style, #eurorack modules are so outrageously priced? Looking at some schematics I've concluded that some of these are pretty simple circuits consisting of relatively cheap components and PCBs are cheap nowadays so in some cases I really don't get it. A smallish module consisting of 2-3 PCBs, a couple of pots and thonkiconns, some opamps and one or two standard ICs + caps and resistors probably isn't worth a substantial fraction of one months rent. Maybe I'm missing something fundamental.
#eurorack sale 😁
Figured I’d post these here before I go to modwiggler and then reverb, fedi gets first crack :)
First up, Mac Salad. It’s a clone of Cold Mac, with a couple extra features. A big mishmash of VCAs, utilities, voltage manglers, and a couple other things, all connected such that they can be easily used separately or in combination with one another. Hard to describe briefly, I’ve written more here: https://github.com/jepyang/Mac-Salad-v1.1-deprecated/tree/main
