I posted a pic I took of Yosemite Valley from Glacier Point the other day... While we were up at the Point, there was also this pretty coyote hanging out. Tonight the vet came to ease Puppy's passing. He took a sudden turn for the worse 48 hours ago.
Born 8 May 2008, he lived a loving, happy life. He was there for me during difficult times - lying at my feet when I worked starting my consultancy, there as a comfort during a difficult divorce, and there to watch me as I rediscovered gardening. He was happy to see me when I came home from work trips or just going to the store.
He was, above all, a Good Boy, but more than that, he was the Best Boy. He was my friend.
Yesterday we went to a garden centre to get a pot of basil because I've been venturing into basic Italian cooking and apparently the dried stuff's no good. All the plant nurseries round here seem to have a black retriever/labrador dog to meet'n'greet the customers, and after a brief exchange of civilities this one enclosed my left hand gently in its teeth and started leading me around.
