Eight-mile frieze of Ice Age beasts found in Amazon rainforest
Thousands of rock art pictures depicting huge Ice Age creatures such as #mastodons have been revealed by researchers in the Amazon rainforest.
The paintings were probably made around 11,800 to 12,600 years ago, according to a press release from researchers at Britain’s University of Exeter.
The paintings are set over three different rock shelters, with the largest, known as Cerro Azul, home to 12 panels and thousands of individual pictographs.

An archeologist employed the technique used by CSI teams to detect blood residue on ancient spearpoints to develop new clues as to why those megafauna disappeared.

@rysiek@kinyutaka #Mastodons current moves are an example of why this thread is here, we need ideas for a culture of “responsible” BRANDING in the Fediverse, if we are not a #openweb culture then why are we here doing this work, few people get paid, almost all of us our working on this for cultural beliefs, this is a shared culture, cats :wink:
