After a looong review process I have pushed a patch from Dilip Kumar and Andrey Borodin that vastly improves the overall #Postgres performance under certain conditions (high pressure, lotsa transactions). More details in the commit message:
Hello 👋 We'll be sharing updates from the #PostgreSQL team 🐘 at Microsoft here, including our open source contributions to the Postgres database core—plus our work on the Azure Database for PostgreSQL managed service. And more!
✅ If you missed this 📝 blog post on what's new with Postgres at Microsoft by @clairegiordano, it's still quite current & gives a good overview
👋 Valued contacts in IT and specifically in the #PostgreSQL / #Database community: I'd love it if you could reach out to me with insights or stories to tell regarding 🧠 mental health in the #IT#workplace. Many thanks in advance 🙏
Can anyone recommend a good, lightweight, Postgres SQL editor for Mac?
I love DBeaver, but I'm finding it slow and cumbersome for my relatively simplistic needs.
@fosdem 2024 was once again a great opportunity to learn about #PostgreSQL and interact with the #Postgres#community. I also had the great pleasure to meet many fellow enthusiasts at the PostgreSQL Europe booth, where I was joined by friend and comrade-in-arms @tchorix and we took the opportunity to do an impromptu book signing for "PostgreSQL 16 Administration Cookbook" which we co-authored 👉 https://packt.link/BmLOz
Almost time for #FOSDEM again. I will attend Fosdem #PGDay on Friday and will be attending most of the #Postgres Devroom on Sunday and as many other talks in between.. (like I do every year 😄 )
I still don't see many #Fediverse related talks on the schedule? If you found any, please let me know.
I'm very happy that the #Mastodon team will be there so I can meet them.
