Are there any actual testimonies that using a mechanical keyboard helped with RSI? I can find plenty of blog posts which suggest it helps, but no one who can vouch that it actually did. #mechanicalkeyboards#rsi
Nice, AntiRSI - the tiny little #macOS#RSI app I've used for I wanna say 10-15 years now - got an update! its "fuck off for a bit, asshole" (my words not theirs) popup now looks /way/ better on dark backgrounds! Old one was often very hard to notice it had appeared.
CIG is inviting new and veteran players to play Star Citizen during the first Free Fly event of 2024. From Feb. 8-15, everyone can play for free with access to five diverse ships
Every time I log into my RSI account to buy Star Citizen, their website makes me enter an authentication code that was sent by email, but it never arrives. This has been going on over the last year.
Is Star citizen even open to the public? The website makes it look like it is, but now I'm wondering if it's a closed sign up or invitation only or something like that. Does anyone know? Does RSI have an email address?
Then I tried blue switches (vs brown); still too harsh.
Ended up settling for brown switches since 2016. Perfect, just like @arun was raving about; I should've believed his hype in 2012.
"When we use computer keyboards or musical instruments, we need our hands to work unconsciously and automatically. It’s only when injuries happen that we have to surface what’s been unconscious, enter manual mode, and retrain until we can form new unconscious habits. I wish there were an early warning system."
@judell@gvwilson I related to this a lot, thanks for writing it. I get #RSI in my right hand, from typing, writing, and drawing. It started during my senior year exams in high school and since then I kind of have to manage it on a daily basis.
One of my main issues is that I do the remapping and then the second pain goes away - go back to my usual, “easy” way. And the pain starts again.
Installed Star Citizen on the newly rebuilt PC. Will be interesting to see how the new hardware runs it, comparatively. It's the most hardware intensive game I've ever encountered.
90GB install complete...
(I've been playing it here and there for a few years. It is breathtaking visually, but limited and quite buggy. I enjoy slipping in every few months for a few hours.)
