Okay, so, like, this is the first #Shellac album I've ever listened to. I honestly didn't know until he died that #SteveAlbini was also actually in bands. I must've heard them before at some point, I just didn't know the connection. Wtf, RIP, tattoo the names of the dead on your hands, etc. etc.

Steve Albini. Fond memories of the many times was in town. When there was time in the tour schedule, they would invite everyone back for pancakes on Sunday, and a morning show. It’s nice to see the letters, kranky takes, and tales of Bob Weston saving the day by salvaging a power supply to continue recording as scheduled. Guy was punk, and like many aging punks, needs more rest than they know. Fuck heart attacks.

“At times, this could make it difficult to write about Shellac, as Pothast discovered when she almost persuaded bassist Bob Weston to play her some of To All Trains down the Zoom call, ahead of its imminent release. In the end, Weston couldn't be persuaded. "It just sounds like another Shellac record, he offered. "It's the same three guys in the same studio."”

Steve Albini's definitive, magisterial take on Steely Dan. Clear sailing to him.

Of my new #shellac 78" #records, I've managed to find a single Jazzy / Big Band record! Most others are vocals or Scottish jigs, lol!

Finished watching “Bodies” on Netflix. Liked it. Lots there for those who enjoy and character driven thrillers. Some depth on the topic of free will. Recommended.

(More or less) final version of my mod of the Keyboard.io Model 01 .

I’m very pleased how it turned out especially with the Linear A keycaps :blobaww:

It’s shellac so I’ll likely further improve it as time passes, but this is a very good start :blobBongo:

🧵 A lifelong 1930s-phile and fan of the British Dance Bands of the period, I have become mildly obsessed with picture discs of the 1930s. I had no idea the technology was possible so early in the 20th century. Such wonderful designs and colours. Here's a small selection...
