Glad to see INNÉ, a local bag brand, is actively posting again. I suppose this means they're back to regular programming after slowing down during the height of the pandemic. Their Sia Two-way Tote remains to be one of my faves. (And yes, they also ship internationally!)
@NatureMC#SlowFashion is part of #Sustainability. If you can't repair clothes anymore, you can use it for gardening or something like that, and after that you can use it as a cleaning cloth, etc.
I fucked up the WS rows of this section when I picked up the front again.
I forgot that the chart switches and I need to read back and forth not all the same direction. I can't decide if I can get away with it, or if I should rip back.
It's the top 8 rows, and only the purled rows.
Maybe the yarn is busy enough that this smol oopsie won't be TOO obvious even when blocked?
This is how much #knitting progress I’ve made on Day 1. I’m hoping to finish this in less than a week to have a second top to take with me on vacation. 🤞🏻
I never understood why so many women have this thing about their favourite jeans. Until I realized that for many women, jeans are the only garments they own that last long enough for them to get attached. Not because there's something special about jeans, but because most other #clothing is of such poor quality, both of fabric and construction. #SlowFashion#QualityNotQuantity#dressmaking#sewing#sustainability#fashion
I’ve been #mending my husband’s messenger bag with a cotton canvas backing (not pictured) and many lanes of running stitches. The bag will look that much cooler when I’m done! 🪡
I recently finished a poncho with a matching pair of wristlets. I'm now in the final stages of finishing the pattern for the poncho, the wristlets will follow soon.
There are about 9 g yarn left and I need to knit about 40 more rounds until the toe starts.
But considering how much I already knit (the leg alone is about 170 rounds), that should work out. I'm still a bit nervous and don't want to work on that ...
Steady progress on this beautiful top. Slowed only because I sadly can't spend all day every day working on it. But it knits up quick when I do have the time!
This hand dyed merino is literally a dream to work with.
A new #sewing make in the works: a petticoat. I will be using a lining ripped off from another garment, a bunch of torn embroidered tulles, and a damaged tutu to make it.
@sewing this is what I meant by sandwiching layers of embroidered tulle scraps inside the waistband. And yes, there’s some boning inserts, too! #sewing#slowfashion
Machine stitched the outer shell of waistband panels, and pinned the facing panels on the inside. I love seeing the embroidery details peeking through the fabrics.
Doing an enclosed waistband for a petticoat can be tricky. Despite going super slowly with an industrial machine AND hand basting, there were sections that didn’t catch.
Hand back stitching to the rescue! Of course these stitches are practically invisible on the outside shell. 🪡🧐
