Just finished this 80s inspired jacket in satin: has two zipper welt pockets on front, and one exposed zipper pocket in lining. Closes with polished metal zipper and has rib at collar, cuffs and waist. Multi-color geometric piecing in two colors with top-stitch throughout. Designed by me ❤️

Popping into the month of with a make!

Pup's new red collar was whipped up by me this afternoon with material and hardware that had been salvaged from broken items. The clasps and D ring came from a puppy carrier that didn't last and the material was a strap on a reusable bag with a short lifespan. Anything that breaks, if I can't repair it, I salvage whatever I can for future projects.

Quite pleased with this! A quick and satisfying make! The other day I also made a big pillow, hemmed a blanket, and I sewed a headlamp onto my waist pack belt for an upcoming race. I will still wear a headlamp but it's nice to have a backup that lights up the ground right in front of me without looking down.

Today's MeMade garments are a hat (crocheted), a skirt and bandanna (sewn), and a waistcoat and socks (knitted).
Here's a photo from last year of our cat putting her seal of approval (i.e. hair) on my hand-knitted sock collection.

@kamikat I think I sort of did participate in last year here on Mastodon?

I don’t use Meta stuff (no Facebook, no Instagram, etc.) so I haven’t really been on social media since I left Twitter back in 2020.

Work's been hectic so here's a few of the last of the that I didn't post.

I definitely need more warm weather clothes.

Purple linen M+B glebes.

The repaired flying pants (M+B modified sculthorpe) and a Helen's Closet Gilbert top.

M+B shortened sculthorpes and an M+B banksia tank.

Another Gilbert top with the flying pants and a repaired bra.

For next year, I suspect I'll try hard mode again. It's definitely a good chance to reflect on what I've made and what's missing.

A fat woman takes her picture in a bathroom mirror. She's holding a grey floral shirt and standing next to a big pink suitcase. She's wearing a mask, an orange t-shirt, and greenish trousers
A fat woman in yellow sandals points at a garden shed. She's wearing green shorts and a blue, grey and orange tank top
A pile of clothes on a chair. There's a beige bra with a yellow patched repair, a bright yellow shirt covered in bee print, and some green trousers

Day 27. Garden Dress. Another Ashland Dress but from Jersey. It is very comfortable and suitable for housework and garden and it was my Muslin for an Ashland Dress in Jersey. Sewn over 5 years ago and just now I am working on the “real” dress… well at least it had time to prove its qualities… @sewing

Most days are now warm or hot enough to go out without an outer layer. I've sewn everything I wear on this photo apart from the bag (I modified and repaired it though), sandals and socks, so this counts as too.
Also tested the magic arm as a selfie tool. Clamped it to various things, here it's clamped to the garbage bin roof that I earlier used to balance the phone on. Clamping is more secure :)

Day 23. Office Day. A new Sweater. With a very nice anchor print in my most favourite color (petrol dark-green-blueish). Combined with skirt. I will wear this outfit to give a workshop on dissertation writing strategies today and hope to brighten up the room. Also it reminds me of beloved crafting friends: shawl crocheted by @meikerenschbergner and shoes second hand from @lottikatzkowski (who remained on the bird site 😢) @sewing

Day 22. Finally a warm day. I wear an dress by made from quilting cotton in blue with very small red roses on it. It has lining and pockets! Unfortunately it is, like most of my self made dresses 5 years old and will soon give up on being worn intensely during the whole summer. I will make at least two new Anna Dresses this year! Promised. @sewing

I wore this dress earlier in the month when I didn't have my selfie stick. Photo was taken last year. I LOVE this dress, which my tailoring teacher in helped me with, a lot. My only regret is that it has no . Made with a fabulous sarong that I bought in .
I constantly get compliments. People love the elephants. Super comfy and easy to wash/dry/ and wear again when I'm travelling. I wish I kept more sarongs, which are unique in each country.

I haven't followed the original challenges but I've seen a lot of posts on IG. Last year, I had very few me-made items to wear but I've done a lot of sewing over the last year and I have something me-made to wear or display pretty much every day. There are a lot of items that didn't quite live up to my expectations but they taught me a lot about the process of fitting and sewing. The community is very encouraging/helpful.

Day 20. I wear a Top. The fabric is black rayon Jersey. While I have several Jellas with 3/4 sleeves this is my only long sleeved version and I am not really convinced by the way the sleeves are constructed. Anyway, it is a nice Top for mixed weather and goes well with jeans. @sewing

Great outfit! And you didn't even tag it with ! I really admire the stitching and styling of those shorts but I pretty much gave up on "hard pants" about 10 years ago. Finished my rainbow socks! 🌈🧦

No pattern for these, this was just me using up some leftover scraps and playing around. I love how they turned out, though!

I think this will have to count for even though I only wore them long enough to take a picture. Too hot here!

Day 13. Garden Day. I wear a Top from midweight (200g/qm) merino jersey. I like Merino for hiking, sports and also underwear. The fabric is from extremtextil.de, and I highly recommend the shop. This top is one of my older ones and I have worn it regularly under suit jackets in the office this winter when the office was not heated that much. Now it has some holes and recently moved to the housework/garden section of my wardrobe. @sewing
