Are you thinking about switching from to ? 🔄 Then you might want to read the story of 'Was hab' ich?', a German NGO in the sector.

How did they migrate from Jira to OpenProject? And how well did the employees cope with this change?

Hey, has anyone checked out https://ora.pm ? Looks like but on steroids. Free plan which is always good. Desktop apps, mobile and web based. Instant syncing. Very pretty.

Edit: Aaaaand it doesn't have notifications when the mobile app isn't running. Fail. Especially for a TASK management app.

Edit2: Okay, my bad, my bad. It DOES have notifications, only configurable from the desktop app. Meat's back on the menu, boys.

Gonna spend the rest of this year evaluating a few task management options as my subscription expires in a few weeks.

, and are my main options, thus far. Any others I should consider?

An update on ditching for as my app. I realised now what effort it was to update tasks on each individual project page. On Todoist, I just have to click on a folder I label "This week" or "Today" to see what tasks I need to do for the week/day. If I need to shuffle it around, it's just a drag & drop action. Having it on my mobile was also really helpful.

PS: Obsidian is still my & choice

Have started using the plugin as I'm creating meeting minutes with action items that I've decided to turn into tasks. Created an amalgamated tasks overview page that works really well, shows me all tasks aggregated from all meeting minutes pages that have them. I know I've messed with this stuff before but.. I'm evolving..

I mean seriously. This stuff is FREE. Sure, not for business use, but it's cheap as piss even for that (personally costs me nothing as the biz foots the bill) but for a regular joe blow, good god, if you aren't using Obsidian, try it!

Today I saw the end of my todo list.

This is a small victory, but nonetheless a significant one. I don't think I've seen the bottom of my todo list for years.

Last week, one day I had no A or B level tasks, just C level. It didn't last long, but the significance of these victories has meant a significant reduction in my stress.

All of this is largely due to a few tweaks to my todo management system, a system I've been working on and tweaking since ~2007 and which I continue to refine.

Maybe one day I'll get it right :)

Just watched this video, and found it interesting. I don't see myself converting to all-digital task management, but I can see how it could translate to my bullet journal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw5J3VNZTDU

Does anybody have any suggestions for an platform that is not based on with a preference for or something like that. Ideally, I want to be able to just launch one container and have it up and going. I am starting to reconsider if was really the right choice over for my instances, because otherwise I'd happily just be loading up files.

One of my biggest struggles right now is managing my ever growing list of Shit To Do That Doesn't Have A Deadline. Or stuff that has a deadline of "by (some vague time that's further away than next week)", which is functionally the same thing

Do y'all have any better strategies for this? I just have a Todo notepad in my phone that becomes a black hole dumpster fire, and it's not sustainable.

Hey community on ,

Been struggling a lot lately with sticking to any todo-list / personal task management. Any tips you have that’s worked for you for a long time?

I asked about what people use for tasks on Mastodon.

Surprisingly many

  • do not use ANY task management and store things in their brain (that's crazy from my perspective)
  • do not use any kind of mobile task management
  • use pen an paper (see two previous)
  • use some hacky terminal/code based task management methods (again, no mobile or cross platform)
  • do not use any time blocking methods (seeing tasks in calendars with estimated times to complete)

I couldn't live my life like that. :blob_smile_sweat2:
