@RickiTarr If it would be like Verna in #TheFalloftheHouseofUsher where you could supernaturally manipulate the lives of bad people & see to their comeuppance, that would be satisfying.
Finally getting around to finishing this as I didn't feel like binging due to the repetitive structure to the episodes (ANOTHER Usher dead, again?).
Haunting of Hill House is still my favorite Flanagan #Netflix limited series.
Like this more than Midnight Mass because of the Poe callbacks and the very creative kills.
Unfortunately, like Midnight Mass, there are narrative-killing monologues and exposition dumps. You can hear a character (usually Bruce Greenwood) start a navel-gazer, call DoorDash and by the time the Very Important Monologue finishes, your food will be there.
You feel like you should be taking notes like you'll be tested on this later. Every performer is well cast, especially an against-type Carla Gugino. Mark Hamill gives good growl.
8 episodes where you could have done 6 if it weren't for the speechifying.
Took it long enough to fall.
I cannot recommend Netflix's The Fall of the House of Usher highly enough as a #halloween treat. Utterly creepy, and intense awesome acting from Bruce Greenwood, Mark Hamill, and Mary McDonnell
Finished up The Fall of the House of Usher last night. I really enjoyed the series, very well done. Of course now I want to go read the book, and of course watch the plethora of movies made based on the book starting with the first in 1928.. It will never happen, But I want to.. Definitely worth the watch~! #horrorfam#horror#horrormoviesandchill#TheFallOfTheHouseOfUsher
Edgar Allan Poe would definitely thumbs up it - whan awesome interpretation!
I like that they got some poems in, was really well done and the mystery kept you engaged with all of the storylines and wrapped it up in a satisfying way. Worthy binge watch definitely
Watched the first episode last night and loved it! I'll probably go into more detail once I'm done, but that will be in a week or so.
But... I hope everyone checks it out because so far I can see the potential and it's spooky & FANTASTIC.
I've only seen one episode of #TheFallOfTheHouseOfUsher, but I'm already very excited and thrilled about it, and how many familiar faces (besides the obviously prominently listed cast) from the #Flanaverse are allowed to gather here. I think that staying true to his people makes his projects even more special. It's not just a new show, a new film, but another time of creating art with his favourite people, his chosen family. I love that.
Found a great post by #MikeFlanagan on Tumblr in which he lists all the works of #EdgarAllenPoe that are referenced in "The Fall Of The House Of Usher", which hits Netflix on october 12th - besides the obvious ones. So if you, like myself, want to get a bit more Poe knowledge on quickly, you can find your way around here: 😀
