I’ve been thinking about the larger implications of #MatthewPerry ‘s passing. He has been struggling with addiction since Season 2 of Friends); he’s professed a profound sense of loneliness; and the specifics of his death - based on what we know - feel tragic in the Ancient Greek sense. Here was an individual who climbed to the very pinnacle of what this society would consider success and yet lived a life in such palpable misery. I think speaks with profound sorrow to the world we have built.
What made #MatthewPerry stand out on #Friends was him also being able to flex some dramatic muscles. He did this better than any other main cast member, especially in later seasons.
