Once again a very good morning from the green heart of Italy

From a couple of weeks ago when the fig leaves were still young, seen against the background of our valley.

Reason 675 why I love : Our favorite local trattoria that treats us to after dinner drinks and just leaves the bottles. And yes, their cantaloupe liqueur is heavenly.

Perhaps the last photo of this years wisteria? Or maybe not. It is even more breathtakingly beautiful than usual this year.

The second orchid to flower on our hillside. Orchis Italica, better known as the naked man orchid, the reason for which is obvious if you zoom in.

We are finally Perugia bound! It's a point of pride for me that I managed to pack for the two of us for six weeks in just these bags. And since we can't access anything in our house while earthquake repairs are underway (surprise!), this will have to do for the next 5 months. At Roma Termini, heading to

Peak wisteria, silent except for the crazed buzzing of bees and distant birdsong

Another shot from yesterdays walk. The olive tree shows the strength of the wind!

The light isn't good for photography today, but I had to try out my new (to me) camera.
It has captured well the interesting colours in this lichen covered tree trunk I think.

A photo looking back down from the other end of our valley with the Apennini mountains in the background.
Taken 9 years ago before my SLR broke and when we still had winters.

The valley is looking beautiful today but it is a day of mourning for us as we have lost our beloved puppy.
It is amazing how much love and affection that little animal gave us in 4 short months.😢
