7.0.18 is out now with more fixes to prevent UBSAN warnings and a fix for an issue with incorrectly displayed time stamps within mounted shared folder for Guest Additions, as well as a fix an issue that caused a host system crash when the VM used a bridged or host-only network adapter. I want to play with "PCI Passthrough" / "GPU Passthrough" whatever.

I plan to buy Ryzen 7 5700G or something similar with integrated graphics card.

I wonder, can You use integrated graphics for baremetal OS, and for vm PCI passthrough, GPU (rx 580 8gb)?

Whenever i read about PCI passthrough everyone say "You need 2x GPU". I'm thinking about running OS on integrated card, and use GPU for vm.

Wow, drag & dropping files between Nautilus and just works?! This is so cool 🤯
Makes it quite convenient to use on for the one or two times per year where you might need to test something on Windows with some esoteric file.

A short video showing a "TPS report.pdf" file being dragged from GNOME's "Nautilus" file manager into a Windows virtual machine running inside GNOME Boxes; the file appears directly onto the Windows desktop.

Not holding my breath there, but in case performance profiling data can provide new insights to allow optimizing / / Spice guest tools / graphics to provide faster Windows on without VirtualBox, here is a fresh bug report on window dragging performance specifically: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-boxes/-/issues/1083

Also profiled the suspicious constant CPU usage while idle: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-boxes/-/issues/676#note_2074349

It looks like Parallels will be yanking the ability to auto-start virtual machines upon startup on Macs in the next major version.

Why?

"According to the statistics from the users who participate in the Parallels Customer Experience program, some product features are used very seldom or not at all. We have decided to either stop supporting them or completely remove them from Parallels Desktop and focus on frequently used features and further enhancements."

Me: 🖕🏼➡️ Parallels.

Now that is dead, what is your «plan B» for on prem ?
At work, I don’t think we can’t afford a migration to : storage support is a mess and Ceph is probably a no-go.
On prem is slowly going down the hill as Microsoft is pushing everyone to Azure.

Before the licencing change we had to pay about 14K€/year for support.
Now we would have to pay ~180K€/year.

And, Unraid is going with annual subscriptions (with a "lifetime" option) instead of the perpetual licensing model.

There is a reason why I've narrowed down my search to either Intel 10th or 11th Gen Core processors, AMD Ryzen, Intel Atom or Xeon D processors for upgrades to my current homelab virtualization servers is due to the lack of official support for P/E-cores. I don't have time to futz around with bodges to maybe get things to work.

And, as a former IT person, I wouldn't want to risk that in any kind of testing or production environment.
