Obligatory yearly toot about #FOSS so I can stay on #Fosstodon 🎉

I saw the other day that German state Schleswig-Holstein is going to switch to fully #FOSS. Which is great and hope it works out for them.

Having set up a fully (F)OSS (desktops, apps, servers, etc) IT env for a large non-profit, might I suggest proper enterprise support instead of a lone coffee-addicted sysadmin who tries to keep systems together with hopes, prayers and duct tape? 🥲

I've helped a friend and used LO to read and recover an old graduation thesis written with MS Write (and partly on an old Word), that was no more readable with newer MS Office versions.

Spero che il mio LG VR6270LVM di quasi 10 anni fa duri ancora per molto, colla sua precisione, autonomia e telecomando a infrarossi.
Le porcate IoT non mi avranno mai! (e lo dico scientemente, da ingegnere informatico) A meno che non sia tutto software libero.

Some time ago, I've bought the (earlier) version of this tablet (https://microtech.store/e-tab-pro-plus/?v=78533df0a516) to my 8yo kid.
He loves playing with @libreoffice and @GIMP and since warranty expired I think it's now time for GNU/Linux.
I'm quite sure to go with something from here https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.html.en
Probably or or... whatever.

Weird : is there a way to use without knowing them?
For example: in an API to API communication I (hopefullu) need a password or token. Is there a way to let my application retrieve and use it, without be being able to know such password?
Or: I have a shared resource (e.g.: intranet page) that, for whatever reason, I cannot put under SSO. Can I let people access such resource with a password, without sharing it or even without letting them know it?

Edit: Trello is going to be the most accessible it looks like, thank you for the recommendations!

I'm starting to search for a style task management board that offers easy one click sign in from Google or Apple and can assign tasks and due dates to individuals. Doesn't have to be free or open source, ease of use for non technical end users is a priority.
Any leads or recommendations?

Adam voleva archiviare i file nel cloud, ma è difficile trovare spazio di archiviazione gratuito illimitato. Perciò ha deciso che se fosse riuscito a codificare i dati in un formato video, avrebbe potuto archiviare i suoi file su YouTube. Funziona? Lo fa e puoi trovare il codice su GitHub.

I had the same problem and I thought it could've been that I'm using Mull and ReThinkDNS to block a gazillion trackers.
I really wanted to try it, so I ended up buying another certificate, but from desktop browser 😒 and it worked.
Now I have my S/MIME with and

Stamattina ho rischiato, in ordine:

  • di essere a Modena e incontrare @tarta e
  • comprare "Un giorno da cana" e "Una notte da cana"

Ma purtroppo ora che ci siamo decisi era tardi per farsi quasi 3 ore di macchina... e ri-purtroppo non avevo dietro la tessera del negozio (i nostri spacciatori di giochi in scatola e robe nerd 😅 di fiducia) e quindi la prossima volta prendiamo i libri.

But I was really struggling between the different environments and tools I was using, each one with its frigging Markdown dialect and variants.
In the end, I'm now struggling with something else: I've reopened my younger self dreams drawer and started learning and, specifically, its with its unique and stable, immutable markup syntax... and I'm even working at my simple with it!
I need more? Yes. But than I colud "simply" learn Emacs and improve it...
