Friday is gonna be... weird. First time in public around people who 1) know me, and 2) don't know the specifics of why I was in the hospital.
I am hoping there won't be too many comments about the weight. I figured I needed to be seen now before it's much more apparent - if they don't say much now, they never will.
(I'm not ashamed of the surgery. I am just not interested in the DISCUSSION. And I DEFINITELY don't want the "oh, wow, great job" that signals that if I suddenly went back to the same weight, folks would think worse of me.*)
*SPOILER ALERT: I now do not even like to eat, so I will be surprised if that happens, but still: I do not want my worth tied to my weight, bad or good.

One of the things I hate most about living in a non-English-speaking place is that I start to lose intellectual vocabulary.
I sometimes have ideas which are really complicated to express, and I know how the structure of the argument goes, but when I get to the last part of speech production, I find that the very very specific word I need isn't there anymore, and I know that it once was.

@fkamiah17 there were two international standard French climbers (boulderes) Fanny gilbert and Luce douady (Luce was killed in a tragic accident) - supporters used to happily shout out their names in various combinations.
