Today in "little things text generators make easier": generating realistic fake data for mock ups.

Long term, would be nice to have a Figma feature to do this automatically, but doing it from a screenshot of the form is useful as well.

Happy Perihelion Day 2024! The Earth is closest to the Sun today for the entire year.

The Sun is also apparently larger in the sky on this day than on any other day of the year. This comparison of two images made on the days of closest and farthest approach in 2005 show the apparent size difference at the two extremes of our orbit.

Apple's emphasis on user privacy presents an opportunity for them to innovate in how LLMs are implemented.

They are one of the few tech companies that could develop legitimate new AI data usage and privacy paradigms, setting much-needed industry standards.

As @Mako and I have been discussing, Apple is the one to watch in 2024. There’s a lot of opportunity for them to lean into private, local LLMs running on phones and laptops providing a rich set of features that address legitimate concerns folks have with companies like Open AI, Google, Facebook and others.

@masukomi @timbray @gruber Thanks for this. The bit about “leaving out many things that have already been mentioned” is interesting, as this means that if a single image or photo is used in multiple documents, the ALT text might need to be set on a per-instance basis (versus on the canonical item), to accommodate the context change for each placement.
