Good grief. In the light of 's comments on , decided to do a piece on the . They had a man and woman on to argue about it.

It came out, live on air, that he was being paid and she wasn't. Sky apologised and offered her £75, the standard fee for such an appearance. Then they offered to increase it to £200, the same as they'd paid him.

I first starting noticing the word "content" in the late 90s

Companies looking to put writing, animation, video or art on their web sites would call it "content"

It flattened innumerable forms of culture into a sort of goo, extruded from a tube

25 years on, the term "content" has metastasized, eating whole the way many people talk about -- think about -- culture.

It’s really quite incredible that I go about my daily life unarmed and never find myself in a situation where I have to shoot someone, but lots of folks who carry guns seem to find themselves in those situations all the time. What an incredible coincidence, they just happen to have guns AND have to shoot someone. Just wow.

@HeavenlyPossum @georgeeyong, years ago, I read a book “Mind of Ninja” and there, it was said that one who carries the weapon will find themselves in a situation to use it. Therefore, it was also said, ninja does not carry a weapon on themselves.

Can you recommend a good fediverse instance? I need an instance that will allow me to write more than 500 characters and allow me to see toots from other instances that are older than two days. I find mstdn.science too restrictive for what I want here.

@jakmarcin @m0bi13, a to ciekawe, bo widziałem dyskusję, w której QOTO odmawiało defederacji jakiejś instancji na ideologicznej podstawie. Dobrze wiedzieć. Dodatkowo podobno nie ma tam możliwości edycji wpisów.

@jakmarcin, QOTO.org? They have 65K+ characters. C.im has 4096 if I remember correctly. I guess you're not interested in Polish instances (if yes, 101010.pl has 2048 and Pol.social has raised number, but maybe @m0bi13 can tell how much). There's also kollektiva.social with 10K limit, but they are a bit too political for your needs.

W ogóle to bawi mnie, że Elon ogłasza istotne zmiany na Portalu Znanym Wcześniej Jako Twitter już nawet nie w tweecie, a w wywiadzie z premierem Izraela. WTF. Przecież jakby tak zrobić w filmie, to by ludzie mówili, że groteska na siłę.

@rdrozd, z nim nigdy nie wiadomo. Wprowadzał już rzeczy, które ogłaszał w odpowiedzi do jakiegoś trollkonta i nie wprowadzał rzeczy, które zapowiadał w tweetach do wszystkich. Jestem pewien, że bardzo by chciał to wprowadzić, bo mu się wydaje, że ma dobry produkt bez konkurencji.

@m0bi13 @centopus @rdrozd, ludzie powinni zawsze screenshoty robić (nawet tutaj), bo treści znikają. Na dzień dzisiejszy wiemy, że w Internecie rzeczy wcale nie zostają na zawsze. Ze screenshotami byłyby większe szanse na to.

    @acejacek, ja zacząłem od szydery, potem miałem iPhone'a (a potem drugiego z pracy), a zawodowo używam maka, bo wszyscy inni mają w zespole, a bujanie się z dwoma systemami w projekcie JS-owym to nie jest coś, co chcę powtarzać.

    Ale łacha będę darł zawsze.

    @qcoolka, nie, no, to żart, ale widziałem dzisiaj chwalenie algorytmu, że ogranicza takich ludzi, na co @m0bi13, znany ewangelista fedi, odparł, że można na jakiś czas wyciszyć. Nie przekonał i wydawało się, że wszystko było na nic, ale kilka godzin zakiełkował we mnie pomysł na trąbnięcie. Niezbadane są wyroki boskie.

    Nie bardzo wiem, co praktycznie z tego wynika, bo i tak nie mieszkam w kraju*, ale kompas pokrywa się z tym, który robiłem z rok temu z innymi pytaniami. Cieszy brak ideologii, bo to straszne podpadać pod jakąś ideologię.

    Ale może by się zarejestrować do głosowania. Kto tam w Warszawie jest z Razem? (Bo z zagranicy głosuje się w Warszawie, z tego, vo kojarzę).
