My search engine skills are failing me tonight. Does anybody know of a tool that will convert an HTML document into markdown? Linux obviously and CLI would be nice. I want to use it for a script.

I really like this idea, but wouldn't the same thing be possible with just having a battery in your house? Maybe a product that allowed you to cache power in your home that wasn't a vehicle could be a viable product? I'm not trying to be negative here, because I do think it's a good idea. Might be better ways to do it though? Maybe I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

@mike I think it's about energy grid management. When your car can buffer energy locally, the rest of the grid might not need as much.

But I don't know a lot about electricity, to be honest 😅

My wife may be getting contacts and ditching her glasses now that her vision has finally gone from something not bad like 20/50 to a bit worse than that. Get this: She had to take a class on how to use them.

Maybe this is common practice, I have no idea. All I know is, I first got contacts at age 13, and nobody taught me anything about what to expect or how to take care of things. I did SO many things wrong early on, it's amazing I can still see.

Overall, I'm really glad she's taking the class. She just texted me saying "OMG this is so hard," referring to her first attempts at putting contact lenses on her eyeballs.

    I've been essentially off Twitter for almost a year now, and Mastodon has become an increasingly rich, diverse replacement. Many of the gaps that were here a year ago are filling in.

    I still miss the extensive breaking news coverage and official government and org accounts I remember from Twitter.

    When I've mentioned this in the past, zealots here have suggested I shouldn't want those things and that they'd somehow ruin this "community".

    I disagree. We can have those things without Nazis.

    I don’t know if recent NVIDIA drivers, or a recent update to the Linux kernel did this, but battery life on standby on my laptop (12rh gen intel + RTX3050Ti) has improved significantly!

    Usually, if I left it on suspend overnight, it drained about 20% of its battery. Yesterday it lost something like 6%!
