The only way self driving cars will work would be if they're ALL self driving. Even then, the "accident" rate would be about the same, because people, as a whole, are stupid.

The ONLY way to stop cars from killing is NO cars. But that ain't happenin'.

This Wake 'n' Bake mug followed me from Canada when I was deported, and remains in my possession to this day. I picked it up in Regina, SK, and it has been used on numerous occasions, the last one being on the 20th of this month.

I tootled around most of the perimeter. I'm sure if you searched "Fortified Church Ingelheim" you would get many results, with a good chunk of 'em being in English. (for results in Germsn: "Burgkirche Ingelheim")

Anyway, without further ado:

Another defensive tower along the wall. This one has crenellations.
A sally port in the wall.
A bridge leads across the moat to a secluded bench along the wall. Very romantic. Good place to make kissyface.

    I would argue that since the overwhelming vast majority of the Universe is "cold dead nothing," ANYthing other than that is "unnatural."

    This would include planets, stars, galaxies, superstructures, megastructures, etc. There's still a lot more "nothing" than "something."

    We're ALL unnatural.

    Anyway - enough of all that. I've just realised I know / have met 3 people who claim not only to have met Elton John, but are friends with him. And the funny thing is that I don't believe any of them. I'm prepared to accept I might be wrong, but I do wonder if Elton John is in that sweet spot for people fond of telling porkies, where he's super famous but also seems accessible. Like would anyone here believe me if I said I know Elton (didn't even use his last name, just like I don't when we hang out)?

    This. I've always heard it as "protestant," and used as a derogatory term. (In USA & Canada, I've never heard it here.) I see it as the "yankee" equivalent of "inbred redneck fuck" or "cast of Deliverance."

    Humba cleans up leftovers. Note the empty space in the feeding station. Bowls from cats that haven't eaten yet are put away in the fridge until he's gone. He gets leftovers, not meals. He does get his own bowl if he shows up right AT feeding time, otherwise it's leftovers.

    On the 20mph/kph thing:

    I believe the speed limit is a safety/environment thing, it's not a "no reason" thing.

    Pedestrians killed or hospitalized by autos has shrunk dramatically since speed limits were enacted here. Downtown has become popular again. (Ingelheim is a beautiful city)

    Also, most importantly, and let me be perfectly clear on this: Fuck your car.
