Without a solid role model, there is no path.

His father is only impressed with cruelty. He will try to please his father by becoming him only worse. Or, he will despise women because of her.

@benroyce He will be his father’s son. He doesn’t know anything else. His mother has no values. His father offers him up as a sacrifice. For him to be even moderately adjusted would be the work of a miracle factory. No one around him cares about anyone but themself. He will be the product of his upbringing.

When they got one, one guy jumped into the water with a giant needle threaded with cedar twine, to stitch its mouth shut so it wouldn’t sink and take the canoe down. Indigenous people knew what courage was and what it took to survive. These sissy hunters with snow mobiles, helicopters or canned hunts, are just laughable.

I wanted to bake something today because the weather was cool, but I couldn't remember the recipe, so I had to look it up, but the recipe book was packed, so I had to move a bunch of boxes to get to it, but while they were out of the way I decided to put the kitchen rug down, then as long as I was at it I unpacked some dishes, then I unpacked my cookbooks then decided to put them on the tea cart, then put every else back nicely & now the kitchen looks better but I'm too tired to bake.

@ai6yr So, yeah, he was blammo drunk. It was mid summer so no one expected ‘bears getting drunk in the back yard’. There’s so much fish in the streams, berries and typical forage by then. I guess the wind was blowing the right way. And yes, drunk bears also puke, and worse. “Got him outta the house just in time!” She laughed. It coulda been sooo much worse!

@ai6yr Yeah, apparently another neighbor was making Cointreau, and he makes it by the cauldron full (gifts it to friends around the holidays). Had about 50 gallons on the go, slow simmer, outdoors…along comes Mr. Bear, can’t believe his luck. He dove in and drank almost the full first cauldron, staggered over, tipped over the 2nd, got it all over himself, same to the third… my friend said he smelled ‘kinda fermenty, fruity, alcoholly’.. it was 6 hrs later when neighbor came home & found results

Seeking eggplant recipe ideas, as I have one limp eggplant in the fridge and 8 eggplants growing in hydroponics (which may produce a massive amount of eggplant).

So far my repertoire includes 2 dishes:

  1. Eggplant Parmesan (Italian)
  2. Eggplant in Garlic Sauce (Chinese)

(the family hates eggplant, except me, so we never eat it 🤔 )

@ai6yr BBQ/Grilled eggplant with sesame or honey mustard, Korean BBQ Eggplant, Eggplant casserole (you need canned artichoke hearts and bell peppers to go with it). Gads, I wish I was your neighbor! I’m the only one in this house that eats eggplant.
