Trump's Florida indictment should be required reading. It does a good job of juxtaposing two things:

  1. The former president stored hundreds of highly sensitive classified documents in bathrooms, closets and other places that weren't exactly secured. The documents included boring stuff like defense and weapons capabilities of the US and allies; potential vulnerabilities of the US to attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack. Worse still, in the wrong hands these documents can expose and endanger human sources.

  2. In addition to the 150 full-time, part-time and temporary employees at Mar-a-Lago, between January 2021 and August 2022, the Mar-a-Lago Club hosted more than 150 social events, including weddings, movie premieres, and fundraisers that together drew tens of thousands of guests.

It's happened again. Ajike Owens was shot through the closed locked door when she went to ask about an ipad that her neighbor, a 58 year-old white woman named Susan, refused to return.

Susan has not be arrested or charged as the police wonder if "stand your ground" applies.

The local sherif described the neighbors as "in a feud." Ajike's family were taken aback by this and they are very frustrated and hurt.

When Ajike was shot her son was standing right beside her.

@futurebird If it was ‘recent’ and she wasn’t trained in how to use it, you can bet her defense will be ‘it just went off’ and some racist jurors will let her off and Republican Party Nazis will give her speaking engagements. I’m so sick of lynchings being labeled as ‘accidents’ or ‘justified’.

    @Theblueone @shoq I remember that! He tried to paint her as a radical and himself as a savior and she not only stood up for herself, but you can see, every Black Woman in that audience heard and felt every word. She spoke for them, their children, their parents… Immediately thereafter there was a campaign to smear her, denigrate her and silence her voice. She KNEW what she was about and that scared the system that was oppressing all non-whites.

    @ryanhoulihan My Apple Watch saved my life. It told me I was having AFIB when I had no symptoms. 5 hrs of me thinking it was something wrong with the watch, I went to ER and was apparently, too close to stroke/death for them to wait. 10 hrs, meds that I now take daily and I’m fine. No, I don’t expect you to convert. But just so you know there are some positives that drive the market.

    Someone asked me how is not like in that it would make you a social pariah for wearing it. My gut reaction (having used Glass but not Vision Pro) is that using VP is like using a big screen computer or media center, while using Glass was like using an Apple Watch for notifications. VP’s UX expects you to remain more or less stationary while using it, while you’re expected to move around while wearing Glass.

    IOW, I feel like Vision Pro encourages you to disengage with your social context to deeply engage with the computer’s content (like when you’re working on your laptop in a cafe), only occasionally coming back to interact with others around you; while Glass encourages you to continue to engage with your social context but continually distracts you from it.

    I don’t think Vision Pro will lead to the problem, unless people start wearing it during social-interaction-heavy occasions. Now, about that guy wearing it during a kid’s birthday party…
