Can anyone explain which part of this board inflates its price to 280€?

(It's an extension board for my heatpump to control power limits.)

Did not expect that much ash. But that relentless little 2 did its job without complaining.

Want to guess what that job is?

DiConX, to Samsung
@DiConX@mastodon.social avatar

Huh? Is it because of the unusual resolution? An aspect ratio of 10:9 is perfectly normal, isn't it?

So, my TV and an obscure Android App are currently the only two things I know to be incompatible with the GB Interceptor.

(Ok, and iPhones, but they just don't support external webcams, so I could as well list chocolate bars as incompatible.)

(Also, I find your lack of space after the period disturbing.)

(That's all.)

If anyone wants to play with the JPEG compression demo (the discrete cosine transform) from my talk: I have uploaded it to my site at

I have been asked about the lag of the GB Interceptor. While it is designed primarily for streaming and recording, I find it acceptable for playing, but I am a rather casual player...

Various combinations of Game Boys running the demo game of Tetris while comparing it to the video from the GB Interceptor on the screen of an iPad. Looking at a moment when a dropping row reappears, a lag of 60ms becomes apparent.

In case you missed it: My talk is now online: https://media.ccc.de/v/37c3-11928-reconstructing_game_footage_from_a_game_boy_s_memory_bus

Thank you all for the warm welcome and all the fun discussions before and after the talk!

Some might say that creating a custom Game Boy ROM with the logo just for a title slide is overkill. But those probably have no idea what the is...

Camera moving between a Game Boy showing the animated 37c3 logo, a camera filming the Game Boy and a laptop showing the title slide of a presentation with the camera's image of the Game Boy embedded.

I will give a Game Boy talk at the !

My topic "Reconstructing game footage from a Game Boy's memory bus" has been accepted.

Can't wait to geek out with the perfect audience for this :) Anyone there who wants to meet?

@JetSm00th A what now? Let me google that...

@JetSm00th Never seen (or smelled) one of those. But after the oil has hardened, the Game Boy does not smell particularly strongly unless you stick your nose to it.

A little miscalculation while working on some details for the video on my wood Game Boy mod. I am surprised that most of those 300µm parts actually remained to hold the logo.

Minor issues: Took away a layer too much at the top, which I will have to fix with the top half. That mistake also affect the screw near the power button, but I will probably glue the case anyway as I don't entirely trust the screws in the pre-drilled holes. 2/2

Most excellent maker Blinry decided no longer to let his lack of a sense of direction deter him from adventures, and built a Pico-powered belt to guide him north.

Chamfering is so satisfying.

(Until the machine did a second much deeper pass because I had loaded the code for the profile cut...)

Closeup of a rough round cut in a piece of wood. A large V-shaped bit passes over it and leaves a smooth bevel.

@DiConX@mastodon.social avatar

@kkarhan It's a Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 with an end mill from Sorotec specific for foam cutting (although normal bits should also work ok).
After searching for ages for a decent affordable Linux compatible Software I ended up using Blender CAM. Not exactly a recommendation if not already familiar with Blender.

it's a pity we don't have 3D printers that can make fully functional computers. like, a 3D printer that can put down new shapes in silicon.

then you could write a programming language that doesn't multitask for new threads: it instead creates a new CPU and runs the thread there. True parallelism!

DiConX,
@DiConX@mastodon.social avatar

@foone Well, I could make a programming language that orders a new CPU for each thread. No?
