How is everybody riding out the #CyberTruck pre-release hype. #Job1 (first build for an actual customer) will build real soon now and will be delivered to much pyrotechnics and champaign on 30 November in a spectacle impossible to escape. It will be interesting to hear the buzz after hunting season, spring off-roading season, and if someone is using them for actual work. Sandy Munro expects a good reception among farmers for use as equipment tenders and for light far schlepping.

The "portable power station" war continues unabated with models updated every few months. We have a Bluetti EB3A 250 WH 300 watt portable that is the network core UPS. I test it monthly to exercise the battery. It will run the network for about 3 hours.

Anyway, Black Friday is coming and the makers of these things are all teasing their Black Friday sales or some are starting them early.

Look for UPS as a specified use case. Look for NEMA 5-15 sockets for AC.

The WiFi had been dodgy for a while. I checked the UniFi console and found that console recommended replacing the uplink cable for the bedroom access point. I checked the switch to see which port it was, bravely opened the network closet (en-suite closet) and found a sketch 6 inch patch cable taken off the bone pile at work long ago. Replaced dodgy cable and life is good. Alarm cleared.

I made a mistake of restarting my computer because I was having weird keyboard issues.

This was a mistake because apparently I am now upgrading to Sonoma. I did not want to upgrade to Sonoma. I did not ask to upgrade to Sonoma. I do have automatic updates on, but in the past that has only ever applied patches, not full version upgrades without your consent.

It is hard to raise much additional revenue from inheritance tax by playing with the rates at which the tax is charged. On the other hand, making it more progressive makes it very much fairer and that is reason enough to make the change.

Random thought: there's so much amazing YA fiction being created these days. I would have loved to have had it when I was young.

At the same time, i keep seeing these stories and thinking "but i want the adult version". not as in "adult fun time", but as in not dealing with high-school level emotions or problems. I'm all for simple and easy to read too, but sometimes you want the bad-ass turn of phrase that requires more than an elementary school level vocabulary.

Continuing with the many Adulting tasks, I am attempting to connect the battery leads of the ambulance to the two new batteries of the ambulance.

I have been out here for at least half an hour.
