So, my original vaginoplasty consult was with OHSU, which is an amazing hospital and where I wanted to go. But the consult was in two months.

On a whim, I decided to set a consult with another doctor. I now have a vagina two months before the original consult.

Just as a point of reference people: A 20 month wait for a consult and another 20+ month surgery wait was avoided by looking around.

This falls into the "It can't hurt to look around" category.

I've seen a LOT of horrible tech ideas in my time. But the Microsoft announcement for a Windows feature (apparently enabled by default) to take and store screenshots every few seconds of everything you do on your PC has to be one of the most high privacy risk concepts I've ever seen. Even stored locally on the PC, it's a recipe for domestic abuse, government abuses, and a long list of other nightmares. Microsoft has jumped the shark BIG TIME.

When did young people stop getting taught how to write in paragraphs? ๐Ÿ˜…โ€‹

Grading papers and it just mystifies me that so many don't seem to understand the idea that when you start a new topic/subject, you should start a new paragraph....rather than a 20-sentence-long paragraph that makes your teacher do the work to try to figure out if you actually are answering the different elements of the question. ๐Ÿ˜‘โ€‹

@JoscelynTransient @RoseRaven this is kind of in the "eventually even patriarchy eats itself" realm. We've spent so long letting boys succeed just because they are boys and telling girls they have to work harder, that girls started succeeding en masse and we didn't even know how to support boys. We've told boys to succeed by being aggressive, then all these post-second-wave inclusive feminist girls hit the scene like "what is wrong with you?"

I wrote a largish essay pre-transition about how part of the backlash against women was their relative, if somewhat piddling, success society-wide, and how that success and backlash mirrors the backlash of Black progress.

Both are successes at great cost and work, but the appearance to white patriarchy is loss of their power (rather than betterment for all.)
