Oh my gosh I just figured it out.

Okay, all you open source evangelist people: your knee-jerk reaction to come at people who are talking about a problem with whatever commercial software they use and suggest Your Favorite Alternatives™ is exactly like saying "why don't you just buy a house?" to someone complaining about their landlord.

EDIT: There's more than one post here. Pick apart the analogy if you will but... beware you'll be proving the point.

Dumb question here, I'm looking at tools to find compatibility issues with a project moving from PHP 5.6 -> 8.2.

Does anybody have experience with PHPStan and can explain how I could use that for this task? Is it just a matter of specifying a certain level to run it at? I'm running it but I think it's showing existing problems unrelated to PHP 8.2 compatibility and I'd like to just focus in on problems related to PHP 8.2 compatibility

A little advice about social media from someone who has been on social media since it has existed. You don’t have to argue. When someone wants to argue with you, you should block them. There is no good outcome possible from arguing on social media.

@patrickworld `88 Ford Taurus for $500, totally rusted out but ran well enough that I drove 1,300 miles from Michigan to Florida with it before it basically gave up

@jace I'm really torn about this because I hate that piece of shit with the flames of a thousand fires but I have experience with both a Tesla and a VW with a standard connector and the road trip experience of the Tesla is a 8 out of 10 and the VW is like a 1.8 out of 10. It's really a shame that the industry just shit the bed so bad that South Africa Hitler gets to get another monopoly

@lowqualityfacts ok, this is my gripe with this account occasionally you post stuff like this and I think “I don’t know, that actually sounds possible” I mean Joey Chestnut is certainly an alien that is not constrained by our earthly reality so this wouldn’t even surprise me.
