We visited historic Smithville yesterday. It's a touristy little village of shops and eateries in southern New Jersey, USA. As we strolled around we saw these lovely pink blooms.

A flowering tree is standing beside a river. The blossoms are pink and frilly.

In further experiments with vital wheat gluten, I made regular bread for the spouse yesterday. Added a cup gluten to 1kg wholemeal flour, 2 cups of rolled oats, and a cup of skim milk powder, and made it using yeast.

It made two of the most perfect loaves I’ve ever attempted. Gorgeous texture, flavour, and colour, and all the extra protein will be good for him too!

Pax is having fun this morning. She loves to squeeze herself into tight places and play there.

@EllieK That was a lovely, informative presentation, Ellie! Your husband and you have produced a wonderful video.
I was especially interested to hear that the sodium content of maple syrup is much lower than honey, as I am on a sodium-restricted diet. And I had no idea that it contained so much nutrition.
