A year ago, I was denied thousands of dollars in coverage for...being late.

I had a big bill from an out-of-network psychotherapist. I had thought my plan with UnitedHealthcare would cover a lot of it.

But United denied my claim. Why? I took more than six months to submit my claim.

Mind you, I was battling and undiagnosed at the time.
