Over 400 Palestinians were killed in Gaza in the last day, & 70 were killed overnight on Sunday in bombardments of the densely populated Jabalia refugee camp & streets close to 2 hospitals in Gaza City.

Entire residential blocks across the strip have now been levelled, including in areas where Palestinians had been told by the Israel Defence Forces to seek refuge. Approximately half the strip’s housing stock, & much of the coastal exclave, is covered in grey rubble dust.

An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot had to be subdued by a flight crew and handcuffed to a seat after attempting to turn the engines off by pulling the emergency handles, officials say. He is now being charged with 83 counts of attempted murder and reckless endangerment, as well as one count of endangering an aircraft, after the flight was diverted to Portland.

Rather amazingly, after three days of agony, I woke up this morning to almost no pain at all in my shoulder! Whether or not it’s a temporary reprieve thanks to the effect of NSAIDS and rest, I’ll take the win :) Still going to be very cautious with it for a few days though.

#Plastic probably shouldn't be used to store anything (with moisture) that you plan on ingesting:

Hello friends. I’ve been quiet for a few reasons, starting with the fact I seem to have a torn right rotator cuff (GP tomorrow for confirmation), which nicely complements my tensovitis and arthritis in my left wrist and hand. Doing anything is v.painful despite gulping paracetamol and icing the joint.

I can only easily type on my laptop , but SO, who I am still looking after, needs to use it since he can’t sit at his desktop. I only have access over brekkie

Finally read Marc Andressen's techno-optimist manifesto. I will say that I do appreciate him taking the time to write down, for posterity, as if that ideology were just naturally true and not mindbogglingly stupid, all the toxic B.S. that makes the capitalist techno class (building out their prepper bunkers, mind you) tick, if only to ensure that people a hundred years from now won't have to wonder, WTF were these assholes even THINKING??

I DON'T think he's gonna take people's credit cards & do something shady like use it to buy a bunch of adspace to make up for all the revenue he's lost because of his past blunders.

Like sure- he'll definitely sell the related data to some 3rd parties, or just give it away if they kiss his ass enough. But most likely he'll just store the important card info someplace with super lax security 😅

The Ants Who Build Barns for their Livestock:

Everyone knows ants are excellent little architects building homes of leaves, silk, or paper (an "ant carton" similar to material made by wasps) & of course, homes in soil or tree cavities.

But, some ants also build homes for their livestock. Little brown ants who live in English Oaks build barns out of moss to house their favorite aphids & accompany their heard to & from the pasture each night. (the pasture is in the tree)
