In 2015 while in a trance state I made contact with a feminine spirit who in subsequent trances gave me the design of my Alchemical apparatus. I didn't know its purpose at the time but more trances followed and it was revealed that the apparatus was for divination and ritual communication.

My Grandad was also interested in Alchemy and I also study and re-create his work from 1930's notebooks.

I don't understand people who try to defend bad behavior for corporations. Like, bro, do you think Wendy's gonna fuck you? You think Boeing is going to make sure YOUR flight won't crash? You think Musk is going to see you going to the mat for X and come give you a fraction of his dwindling wealth for being so understanding?

Or is your identity so inextricably tied to their brands that you feel any criticism of them is an attack on yourself?

@Cat_LeFey I use a specific offering to the goddess every time I address her and it goes like this:

I have a small pitcher and I put some milk in it. I take my finger and dab some of the milk on my skin. Next I pour some red wine into a shot glass and set it on the right of her statue. The milk is on the left. I have a small metal plate and pour a small amount of clean sand onto it. This dish is between the other vessels. I then pour a few drops of the wine onto the sand. Now I can address the goddess.
After we've had our time together I dispose of the offering materials outside and clean my vessels.

This offering represents the transformation of #Sekhmet into #Hathor. Praise the Eyes of Ra! Have a great weekend!

@Cat_LeFey Just to clarify, I'm offering to a goddess but she is also an individual spirit. She uses the name Hathor as a sort of title or office. This indicates to me that the goddess Hathor may be many spirits intertwined.

I’ve said this before but apparently it hasn’t sunk in but if you say “Biden has lost my vote”, don’t expect anyone to listen to you or be surprised he’s not out gunning for it. The election is 6 months out. If there’s no way you’re voting for him, nobody fucking cares what you want.

You can enjoy likely a 7-2 or 8-1 conservative SCOTUS that will be grinding down our rights for the next generation or three. Enjoy that.

@poweredbylemonx Don't have that problem with my stainless steel one and it keeps the charge from building just fine. On the other hand (!) a little rust on the finger is no big deal.

A few years back, I wrote that the right wing in America believed that human rights were a reward for ideological correctness, rather than a baseline all persons were entitled to. The designation of “stateless” enemies who could be targeted for assassination, and the insistence that noncitizens have no claim to humane treatment or protection under the law, would inevitably slide into arguments that “insufficiently loyal” citizens have no rights.

Keep an eye on this one.

Scottish social anthropologist and folklorist James George Frazer died #OTD in 1941.

He is best known for his influential work "The Golden Bough: A Study in Comparative Religion," which explores the similarities among magical and religious beliefs across diverse cultures. Frazer proposed that human belief progressed through three stages: primitive magic, replaced by religion, and finally replaced by science.

I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies. I haven't seen a lot of movies or TV, actually. We never had a TV growing up, and my tiny FM radio was a secret, because my adoptive mother was mentally ill, and she thought the government was spying on her, or there were demons talking through it or something.

I developed a strange disdain for entertainment media. I think now, that I was just really jealous when all the other kids talked about their favorite shows and their family TV night, I convinced myself that it was all just stupid and a waste of time. ‘It'll rot your brain' and all that.

Even now, I'm woefully behind on all the latest shows with the cultural references I should know. I'm still not great at computer stuff. I mostly read books.

So I guess this is a shout-out to all the sheltered kids who don't understand any of the memes, I'm with you.

@Cat_LeFey It is my Spirit fused with that of the goddess #Hathor that carries me out of my egotistical self into the collective. I then return to myself and act in my own self-interest once again but in a more purified and sympathetic way. I see this process as continuous. Praise the Eyes of Ra!
