    "... questions about the justices' ethics and the institution's credibility linger. ..."

    "Linger"? Really? What is going on in the justice system & in the SCOTUS in particular, is outrageous and infuriating.

    I absolutely love the work that you and your team do in the courtrooms of this country, but your choice of words in this post seem to undermine the righteous anger of those of us in this country who, as I KNOW you do, actually CARE about moral compass in our government

    Yes, it is. Only ... when I first saw it I thought it had occurred somewhere in the American SE. I thought, "Damn MAGAs!"

    And then as I read on and realized that the incident had occurred in Ireland, I was first shocked, then saddened that White Supremacy is such a world-wide affliction. I guess that, in reality, it came to America on the Mayflower, from its European roots

    The senior senator of my home state of California, Dianne Feinstein, has passed away at age 90. She was a trailblazer and a leading advocate for an assault weapons ban. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing.

    OlDude82,

    @georgetakei

    Sadly I wish I could agree with your sentiment, but Senator Feinstein's refusal to step down rather than run for re-election in her last two terms has tarnished her legacy and damaged the ability of the Democratic Party to deal with the existential challenges facing the US this past decade. In particular, it will now not be possible to get even one single judicial appointment for the remainder of this administration's current term.

    I'm thinking about Mastodon in a wide view, in the world of social media, this feels a little outsider, while at the same time it also feels like it might be the future. So, let's talk about it!
    What do you get out of Mastodon?
    Why are you here?
    How has it compared with your other social media experiences?
    What do you see for the future of Mastodon?
    What do you want to see?
    And basically anything else about it you want to say about Mastodon.
    LET'S TALK!

    OlDude82,

    @RickiTarr
    I was never very "social media" oriented back in the early days of the internet. I got into a scrap with the creater of AOL & was booted, and didn't participate in any forums until the advent of FB. I was successful in using that medium to keep in contact with many of my extended family & old acquaintances, but it became intolerable during the runup to the 2016 election, and I deleted my account the day tRump was announced the "winner" of the Presidency.

    (More in next reply ...)

    OlDude82,

    @RickiTarr

    ... I subsequently created an account at Twitter & enjoyed several years of interacting with people all over the world, building a small 3K account that was fun & rewarding. Then came EM. I deleted that account & removed my data last year. Since then I have have found an entirely satisfactory home here on mstdn.party where I follow about 1.4k accounts. I find that I get almost zero hateful interactions, and when I do, I generally outlast them in the ensuing exchange. It's home!

    It’s always the interns and assistants, isn’t it? One of Trump's aides, Molly Michael, has told federal investigators that the former president wrote notes and "to-do" lists on the back of classified documents, including documents used to brief him on calls with foreign leaders or other international matters.

    And when Trump heard the FBI wanted to interview Michael last year, Trump allegedly told her, "You don't know anything about the boxes."

    Nothing suspicious at all about that, right?

    I wonder if she’ll be called to testify by Jack Smith down in Florida.

    OlDude82,

    It's amazing how differently people can view the process of watching movies. In my 83 years I have probably watched less than a handful of movies twice. I have NEVER watched a movie 3 times. Once I've seen it, I've seen it. I feel no need to ever see it again. My son & daughter-in-law, on the other hand, buy movies and watch them repeatedly. I just don't get it

    I don't know about "Collection" (capitalized), but I think that collections (NOT capitalized) are defined by the collector. My dad was an avid philatelist and numismatist , and his collections were well organized, but never displayed.
