@lauren @timbray I believe "the left" are saying that both Biden and Trump would enable Israel in genociding the Palestinians, albeit with slightly varying levels of enthusiasm, but then who would know more about what "the left" think than someone who blames them for what USA presidents do

my parents like going to the beach, but only in November. They're away right now. This means I get to use their sauna without being social with them, which, although I do love hanging out with them since they are delightful people, is a treat.

-own property

    if you're new here or tend to avoid "drama" let me explain something about this place:

    there are real scary racists lurking around and they hide inside language designed to relieve white guilt. they find other yt people who need this kind of reassurance and help them feel comfortable being overt racists in several ways. they may say some variant of "you're too woke go back to twitter" or they may pull a Black person's reply out of context and try to make that person seem like a monster

    Today makes 6 years since my wedding reception, which was at my parents' house, and catered by Spouse's sister, who owns a Jamaican restaurant. My sister and her kids came (my brother lives far away and couldn't make it), and Spouse's mother and two of their three sisters came (including the one who brought the food obviously). We had so many donated treats from friends, a great DJ (me), and good times were had by all. I love them so much.

    Being in an interracial, cross-cultural, queer marriage is fucking awesome. For example: my redneck brother-in-law (my sister's husband) is going to teach Spouse's mom how to shoot guns. Meanwhile, they've developed a regular trade: fresh eggs from upstate for oxtail dishes from NYC.

    I got to visit Jamaica as a family guest instead of just a tourist.

    Spouse gets to relax in my parents' sauna and is learning how to fish and shoot, also courtesy of BIL.

    @stefan hehehe we did write our own vows too! Yeah actually making a reception playlist was one of our favorite activities in preparing for the event. I'll never forget seeing my brother-in-law's stepdad (also a redneck but with more of a goofy Hawaiian shirt style) rocking out to Peter Tosh.
