Weight loss drugs like Wegovy and Zepbound have been hailed as a revolution. Yet the high cost and lack of insurance coverage make them largely unattainable....
I have severe Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Lipedema; and need WeGovy to stop the pressure on my joints. Doctors have tried every weight loss option and this is what’s left. I haven’t been able to get it and every day degrades my joints and ligaments further. I’m annoyed that there are so many people just getting it to look good, when there’s so many of us that need it to survive. I’m not even big (180lbs), but because of the EDS, it’s dangerous to have that weight.
I met a girl that I’m interested in and enjoys comics like I do, would something like asking her out to a comic store be dumb? I have a hard time talking to girls so not sure if this would be a dumb idea.
I’m a girl who likes comics. Do it. If you can find a nerdy shop with snacks, even better. Ask her about her favorite characters and have her pick out one for you to read, if you don’t know it. That would be an awesome green flag for me. Be careful not to get too serious/gate-keepy, though. An open mind is the best way to approach this.

Furries. They’re some of the nicest people ever. I’m a cosplayer and our worlds intersect a lot. They raise more money for charity than any group as small as they are, they’re kind and accepting, and they’re wicked talented. I trust Furries before muggles anyday
Adopting wild dinosaurs/Animal hoarding… Paleo Pines. It’s like the rated G version of ARK. I’ve got 45 super cute dinosaurs, but because this is a game, I’m rich enough to be able to give them wonderful lives!
A house in the scary part of Detroit is about that. But only the dangerous part. If you want anything in a remotely safe area, you’re looking at a minimum $150k
I’m really into unusual/insane/unhinged. I find them fascinating. I’ve followed conspiracy theorists, alien abductees, otherkin, therians, people who eat cat fur of their sofa, etc etc....
I was a postmortem scientist for a decade, and have a show called After Death, which focuses on SFX makeup and embalming, based on gruesome ways people have died! It’s on a page called Bad Day HQ which focuses on the worst days in history… crime, death, natural disasters, conspiracies, cryptuds, etc. Honestly best side gig ever. I love being teach people about really morbid stuff.
I fucking paid my taxes to protect me from poverty if I became disabled… little did I know that disability only pays 11k/year and if you have more than $2k in the bank or in valuables, they take away your food and Medicaid. That $2k asset limit hasn’t changed since 1974. We can’t fix a vehicle on that, we can’t pay our rent, we can’t survive on max $2k at any given time. If adjusted for inflation, it would be $13k. That’s enough to survive on.
Furries are some of the kindest people out there. They raise massive amounts of money and items for charity; are generally very accepting and inclusive; and they are normally very talented and creative sewists too. Don’t lump them in. They’re misunderstood and bullied for it.
If you missed more than 10 days of work at any job, it’s likely you’ll be fired, so they can just pull themselves up by the boot-straps and find another job.
I find that most people in my life have at least one “thing” they are collecting. It is often an insight into their personality and it is fun to hear people talk about something they are passionate about.
As a kid, we were so poor, it was scary. I remember living in a car, having to choose between going hungry or eating food that was past its prime, and learning Santa wasn’t real too young (I couldn’t understand why my friends got expensive dream gifts… I thought I had been good)
After going through all that and my mom overdosing, I started collecting things that would accumulate value or were an investment. Comic books and figurines are my go to, but I’ve also got machines for creating cosplays (as that’s my career now). I won’t buy anything that I can’t pawn off in an emergency to survive, or use it to make money. I really should have been collecting coins/gold/silver, but I picked what was fun.
Also, shoutout to my elementary school’s lunch lady, who noticed a tiny, thin girl using the free lunch program, and offered her seconds, after everyone else had been served. I don’t think she knows how much she touched my life.
I minored in business law and read them. It terrifies me what people agree to without reading… McDonald’s, TikTok, and snapchat just added clauses to their terms of service that say users are not allowed to participate in Class Action Lawsuits. Unfortunately the Supreme Court was swayed by AT&T in 2019 so now every business is doing this so they can’t get sued by groups, just individuals who they KNOW can’t afford to hire a lawyer and fight.
They have to allow an opt out option, though, so always Control F and find the class action and opt out section to make sure you don’t get screwed out of your rights.
It’s hard. I still eat garlic on occasion, even though it makes me sick. Luckily, I’ve always had a bad reaction with an onion, so my body rejects the flavor too
Per copyright law in the United States, the designs must be 15% different to create one’s own artistic copyright. They’re several that are close, but 15% isn’t that much. Obviously Nintendo isn’t a US company, but it’ll be interesting to set how this goes
I’m so glad that someone leaked that Roe v. Wade was getting overturned. I scheduled my sterilization and I’m so so happy. There is still a LONG waitlist to get sterilized.
No babies, no periods, no cramps, no mood swings, life is good. (Bilateral Salpingectomy and Endometrial Ablation are an awesome combo)
